XXS needed for men's motorcycle wear?
 

To all the street bike riders from the Lower Mainland, would you guys say that there is a potential motorcycle apparel market for smaller size male riders??

Preferably for men, who are under 5'6. I understand that Alpinestars and Rev'it do tend to fit smaller. But if there IS a brand MADE JUST FOR this type of smaller male riders, would riders be interested in purchasing this brand over the European brands out there?

For example:
-smaller waist and shorter inseams for bottoms
-smaller waist measurements for jackets

Your input, ideas and suggestions would be highly appreciated!!!!:concentrate:

For myself, i'm 5'8" but a skinny 135 lbs. The jackets seem to fit fine since I wear a back protector under the jacket, but I have a hard time finding good-fitting riding pants as my waist is 28", but inseam of 32". Most pants have either right waist/too short inseam, or too big waist/right inseam. So I would be interested in the riding pants with smaller waist but longer inseam

I am still in the researching process of this potential market, which is why I need feedbacks from male riders, who may fall under this category!

Jermyzy, you said you have a hard time finding riding pants, would it be for all pants such as denim, textile, and leather?

i think you should take into account that brands like rs-taichi and dainese offer sizes as small as 44 euro/34 us with some of their collections, which will pretty much fit even the smallest riders.

I will search into rs-taichi and I have heard that dainese do offer small sizes as well but currently there is no retailer in the Lower Mainland that carries this brand.
From what I see, this particular market is still quite under-serviced because it is only serviced in couple of brands.

Textile pants. They do make riding jeans in my size, but for some reason all the textile pants are too large at the waist

I'm 5'6, 125lbs.

I have an RS Taichi RSJ824 Jacket, and it's a 48/38. only a medium (japanese sizing), but it's actually a "wider" jacket made for the north american wearer. Some of their other lines like their GMX Motion actually have a Japanese sizing that is a slimmer fit.

Their jackets do get smaller, but not by much.
I think your market is going to be very small and hella competitive.
I think riders are very picky and brand loyal.

The build quality of my RS Taichi is phenomenal. You'd have a hard time convincing me to get another brand. However, if you do bring in a bunch of small sizes and had them all on hand, you'd be the first one I go to try stuff on.

I'm not that small, but I do own a RS Tachi jacket (and gloves) aswell and I must atest to the quality of their products. Amazing attention to detail and the stitching and build is just quality! I'll assume that their "Japanese" sizing will pretty much fit any of the smallest riders, fit is a lot narrower then most otter brands.

I'm 5'4" and weight 130lbs and wear an Icon jacket in a size Small and a Shift jacket in a size Medium. I think you guys just need to eat more and bulk up a bit.

That's what I was thinking. How small do you need to be for a XXS? 5' and 100 lbs?

For me it's not the jacket that's a problem, it's the pants, especially textile pants. I have 28" waist, 32" inseam. Most textile pants even in the smallest size only go to 30" waist.

I'm wearing alpinestar kevlar jeans, they are about size 28.5, build quality is quite good actually, fit is mostly acceptable.
My biggest beef is that I can't find any good jeans with good knee protection, mine only cover the front of the knees and not the side. If you guys can find any high quality ones, please let me know, price is no object.

Is it hard/expensive to hem textile pants?

I'm on the other end of the spectrum, large athletic build that doesn't fit standard sizes. I often cannot find items that fit well and have to have them hemmed.

I'm sure hemming is possible, but I think a potential issue might be uncomfortable positioning of the kneepads.

if you dont care about brand, check out Rubber Side Down, they're local and they custom make jackets, pants, etc, might be good for you since most brands cater to the general more taller/bigger people

Tap Moto is local and make custom pants and jackets as well.

talked to another rider recently and he mentioned that RS Taichi has gear for smaller framed riders

RS Taichi is way to go for smaller guys
