Hey guys need some help , I don't know much about computers anymore .
I need to upgrade my rig for bf4, and hopefully run 1080 in high to ultra settings

Current setup
Amd 1055t 6 core overclocked to 3.6
8g DDR 3
Crappy hard drive
5870 video card
Power supply I think is rated 850w
I'm just wondering if i should crossfire my card since the 5870 used is around $100 on craigslist
Or should I just buy a new card?. My budget is around $200.
Thanks in advance

New card is generally always better than crossfire.

For $200 you can get some pretty decent deals.

You probably won't get ultra with a current gen $200 card.

I would say get a Radeon 7870 and run it in High or so. When Mantle comes out, you'll get a performance increase.

Replace it with an SSD

I just got a UASP enclosure for USB 3.0 testing on motherboards (about $20).. With an SSD it runs at 440-450 MB/s read and write

Only works in UASP mode in Windows 8, otherwise it's a standard USB 3.0 drive, running at 250 MB/s or so

Still testing PSU. Will do cable management + hide the HDD/SDD and order some LED lights soon!

Also looking into getting H100 in the future to see overclocking potential.

System I built for a friend.. He was 100% a console gamer until now

Core i7 4770K
Gigabyte Z87M-D3H
MSI GeForce 780 GAMER
16GB Crucial DDR3 1600
Intel 520 240GB (Windows, apps)
Intel DC-S3700 800GB (Steam)
Corsair H60
Corsair CX600M
Cooler Master Silencio 352
Asus Xonar Phoebus Solo (added later)

And yeah I didn't spend much time cabling. Nobody will see it though, and there is sufficient airflow from the front.

IIRC the M500 doesn't hit full speed until you get to 512GB

Looking to a 2nd monitior.
Any good suggestions?
Doesn't need to be big or super expensive (around 19 to 22inch is good enough). Mostly for when I am programming or need to have 2 doc open at the same time. Currently using a 24inch right now. Thinking of getting a Dell P1914S since I can turn it vertical.

Before upgrading to a better card, should consider if the current psu can handle it
