I love blue switches, but I would have preferred to be able to get a keyboard that doesn't require software - especially software that requires a login.

I'll be writing about this on HCW

Thats the same keyboard im using.. I dont need the numpad keys so I thought this would be good.. so far so good..

coffee and keyboards dont go well together.. lol... try taking it apart and cleaning?

I took off the keys and then squirted rubbing alcohol into each individual switch, which got the stickiness away. But the feeling of the switches isn't as good as it was before :(

Im thinking about selling my Gigabyte GTX 670 OC that I've had for about a year and upgrading to something newer, what are you looking for?

Alby 12-25-2013 09:15 PM

was looking for a 256GB SSD and came across this on NCIX.

http://products.ncix.com/detail/adat...70080-1051.htm

can anyone comment on SSD by ADATA?

SkinnyPupp 12-25-2013 09:25 PM

It's fine but you will want to overprovision it (only format up to 240GB, leave the rest unallocated). That was a really bad design choice by them, as SandForce isn't designed to give access of all the flash to the user.\

http://www.adata-group.com/upload/Pr...tImage3092.jpg

There is a reason all other SandForce drives have 7% less space.. that's how it was designed to be used.

thank you for the explanation, but im still not clear as to why it's a bad design? if other sandforce drives have 7% less space, and this adata allows access to all the flash, wouldn't that be better?

Razor Ramon HG 12-25-2013 10:15 PM

I have the 128GB version.. so what should I do?

If you actually use that extra space, performance will fall off a cliff

If you don't, it should be fine. If it's a good deal I say go for it. Just be aware not to fill the drive up too much. Also you miss out on RAISE although that may not be a big deal.

format and allocate only 120GB
or
format and allocate the whole drive but don't use past 120GB otherwise it will suffer performance issues.

Any opinions on the ocz vertex 3 480 gb ssd?I see it's on sale at ncix for 169.99 which seems like a great price but I heard bad things about ocz ssds

We've all heard bad things about OCZ drives.. I have about 4 or 5 over the last 2-3 years and all are still going *knock on wood*

OCZ is in the process of being sold to Toshiba

I used to know the founder and president.. This is back in the old days when they made RAM products and heatsinks. Of course, that is until he got chased away from shareholders when they booted him off as CEO (replaced by Alex Mei who was there in the beginning also).. He sold his house the next day and ran to panama and I don't know if anyone has seen him since :fuckthatshit:

If you remember the huge price drops SSDs saw in 2011-2012, with huge MIRs all the time, that was Ryan attempting to boost up their sales figures to sell the company for an inflated price.. It almost worked, but the sale fell through, and of course after honoring all the MIRs they lost money.
