My last PC lasted me around 7 years I did upgrade the RAM, video card, SSD and change the PSU but otherwise the CPU and MB is still decent. |
If the games you're running is fine with your current GTX 660, then I wouldn't recommend an upgrade. You make take a look at the comparisons here - MSI GeForce GTX 770 Gaming review - DX11: Futuremark 3DMark 11 & 2013 |

Hey man, could've probably been happy with just your 660 if you didn't have upgraditis! |
The price for Crucial MX100 makes it so tempting. I wonder how competitors will react to this, especially Samsung. http://www.anandtech.com/show/8066/c...b-512gb-review |

FX 4100 4core VS FX 8320 8core worth upgrading? AMD FX-4100 vs FX-8320 review seems to say insignificant difference. I have no idea what I'm looking at. the 8320 is on sale now for about $130 |
I'm looking to build a new mid level gaming pc this weekend, since gaming on a mbp isn't ideal. I haven't built one since an i5-750 build many years ago. I'm probably going to go with an i5-4670 build this time with a budget of $1100 + tax. should I mimic the builds a few posts above with cheaper video card + case or should I try to stretch my budget up a bit. and what was the website where you could compare prices from various online retailers. thanks. |

Of course I suggest adding a SSD (I got my own). Pretty decent build. |
