Damn, no one ended up even messaging me except lowballers for my mITX, so I guess I'll be keeping it. Really want to build another rig though.. shit's addictive like Lego back when we were kids.

Got $900, pieced it together for around $840 before taxes buying stuff for cheap off pcpartpicker and price matching (i.e. got my motherboard + cpu for $390 at memory express)

Some guy off CL tried convincing me that 50% markdown is how much is necessary on used electronics .. I just stopped replying to him. Fucking neckbeards of craigslist

Keep getting the atikmdag.sys bluescreen. Followed the steps online to fix the issue, now it's back. Anyone else experienced this issue before?

Using an XFX 7950

Razor Ramon HG 09-22-2014 03:36 PM

Uninstall drivers, use Driver Cleaner, clean AMD drivers and reinstall.

If not, try using an older version of the Catalyst drivers.

Need more details though like when it started happening and if you installed anything just prior to the BSOD.

Memory Express, Inc. - Computer Parts & Laptop Computers in Canada

did i get jipped? memory express employee recommended me the 35$ one and there is a 13$ one.... gigabit pci card... my ethernet port on my motherboard is broken so i have to get a new one :concentrate:

Razor Ramon HG 09-22-2014 11:43 PM

The D-Link one would probably work just as fine, but he probably recommended you the Intel one since.. well, it's Intel.

If we were talking about wireless cards on the other hand..

If the price difference bugs you that much, just return it. No restocking fee at ME.

Built a tower with a Corsair 250D mITX case. Despite being mITX, it's actually much bigger than I expected compared to my EVGA Hadron Air.

Good thing with the 250D though is that there's a lot of ventilation in the case. You can also stick a 240mm radiator in it like the Corsair H100i.

Don't buy the EVGA 750W PSU on sale though. Despite having a nice price tag and it being semi-modular, it's noisy like an airplane jet. http://www.ncix.com/detail/evga-supe...97306-1343.htm

I got this Seasonic instead. 80+ Gold, and it's super nice and quiet since the fan only turns on during heavier loads. http://www.ncix.com/detail/seasonic-...76942-1343.htm

I have SATA II, and NOT SATA III ports. Does it matter much at all when it comes to buying SSD? Should I still buy the best that I can afford?

Traum 09-25-2014 02:46 PM

The difference in improvement (compared to a mechanical HDD) will still be phenomenal. While I would still buy the best that you can afford, I would probably not choose the current highest performing SSDs. A consumer grade unit that offers bigger storage capacities would probably suit your needs (and budget) better.

What's a good USB style wireless stick? The current one my wife is using is too slow

Or at least any good wireless thing for PC? I'm not sure what the motherboard is so I don't know what internal wireless card would work for it

Thanks in advance

Can't go wrong for $10

Bought a refurb Linksys router the other month and it works beautifully.

I have the Asus USB N13, been using it for a couple years now, never had any issues.

I have the same one. Paid $20 for it a while back.

Only 2.4GHz band though.

The one I linked above is both 2.4/5GHz.

Thinking of picking it up to replace my USB-N13.

roastpuff 09-26-2014 07:46 AM

I have the AE2500. Works wonderful...

Linksys refurbished routers/sticks are great value for money. I love my refurbed E6500. :D

twitchyzero 09-26-2014 08:20 AM

ive come to appreciate refurb'd electronics as long as it doesn't have a finite lifespan ie monitors/SSDs

Razor Ramon HG 09-26-2014 06:13 PM

Anyone looking for or know anyone wanting a G3258?

I'm selling mine for $60. Binned well, and capable of running at 4.7GHz at 1.4v with proper cooling. I'll throw in a free ZALMAN CNPS5X Performa heatsink.

areyounoob 09-27-2014 08:53 AM

So...
where do you guys buy your keycaps for your mechanical keyboard?

Razor Ramon HG 09-28-2014 09:05 PM

No mechanical keyboard for me at the moment..

Using this Coolermaster Storm combo that I bought for $29.99 - http://www.ncix.com/detail/cooler-ma...-29-100695.htm

I want to buy the new Corsair K70 RGB, but at $200.. hell naw.

EDIT: That moment when you're bending a pin on your motherboard back to place and it falls off.. FUUUUUUUUU

Razor Ramon HG 09-28-2014 09:47 PM

For anyone interested, I found a old Gigabyte 890GPA-UD3H under my bed.

GIGABYTE - Motherboard - Socket AM3 - GA-890GPA-UD3H (rev. 2.0)

I bought this motherboard off someone in a combo package a few years back, but couldn't get it working. I'm not sure if it was a dead board or user installation fault, but I'm willing to give it to someone that perhaps has spare AMD hardware that they can use to test this with.

I have the original box and the original accessories.

First person to PM me can take it for free.

Was wondering if I should go for a 780 gtx, or wait it out for a 970 gtx? The newer series is more efficient but the 780 is going on sale. Upgrading from a 470 gtx.

Razor Ramon HG 09-29-2014 06:39 PM

I'd wait

IfUCare 09-30-2014 11:46 AM

Keep an eye out for an R9 280X

I bought mine for $200 off craigslist
out of your price range slightly, but for $200 it's a ridiculously good card

Wait!!!
The gtx970 is even keeping up with the gtx780ti on some applications!
Would not get a gtx780 unless is around $300 range.
gtx970 is a better buy.
And hopefully it will drop a bit during this holiday.
