/1 issue down 3 more pop up
anyone have any idea why my wireless keyboard would have horrendous range issues and lag issues on my desktop but be perfectly fine with my laptop ? plugged into usb2 on my laptop and usb 3 (only) for my desktop
other than that both are identical when it comes to range and visibility

Do "gaming mouses (mice lol)" really that make much of a difference when it comes to gaming? I've only ever used Logitech wireless mice but am considering this a wired Corsair M45 or M65 mostly due to the fact that they don't look super nerdy and the price seems reasonable

depends on the person, I love my mice but I know some people claim they can't tell the difference between a gaming mouse and something from a garage sale.

I'd say it is also a matter of personal preference. In particular, it all comes down to whether:
1) you are willing to shell out big bucks ($90?) for a gaming mouse when there is a $5 basic one available
2) whether you can take advantage of the programmability of the gaming mouse
3) whether you like the high dpi / resolution of the gaming mouse
For me, #3 is an absolute deal breaker, as I hate the gaming mouse's high resolution. I can't get any fine / precision movement that I need, so having one just screws me up. On the other hand, I can totally picture someone else benefiting from the minimal amount of movement from the high res mouse, esp in a gaming situation where fast reaction time is probably quite important.
But ultimately, it's just me being the cheapa$$ that I am b/c I can't justify spending $90 on something that can be bought for $5. |

for me i just wanted something ergonomic, have back/fwd buttons and can change dpi on the fly
for something that I use couple hours each day, a decent keyboard and mouse is well worth it and like other peripherals such as monitor, speakers, head phones...it lasts longer than your computer's internal hardware which is the actual $$$ stuff

I like being able to fly all over the screen for normal stuff and then have it make very controlled movements only when I need it, all at the press of a little button.

As such, I don't really have the luxury of choosing customizable dpi settings.
Yes, it's just me. Haha. |

I am looking for a cheap monitor that can be used with a Raspberry Pi but also A PS4 so it needs to have built in speakers. Maybe I should just get a TV like this? Insignia 24" 1080p 60Hz LED TV (NS-24D510NA15) : LED TVs - Future Shop

^ IMO for the same price you'll get better quality from a monitor, I'd wait til Boxing Day and see what NCIX has on. Quote:

Yes, it's just me. Haha. | So pick a KB/mouse that have internal storage. They save all the config inside themselves so once it's set up you can ditch the software and it'll stay the way you set it regardless of what you plug it into. My main Logitech mouse was set up 3 PC's and 5 reformats ago and it does exactly what I set it up to do back then.

Ah gotcha, if you're a brave man you could look at the Boxing Day sales that go live on the 23rd, but the physical item won't be received til after Christmas.
Since you're set on speakers:
$175 http://www.ncix.com/detail/asus-ve24...57310-1416.htm
$170 http://www.ncix.com/detail/acer-g246...00463-1416.htm
$130 http://www.ncix.com/detail/benq-gw22...98206-1416.htm
One thing to note is a TV will have a remote for volume and stuff, a monitor won't, so depending on the use it's a bit of a toss up between a monitor and a TV. I don't know a ton about screens but the specs on that TV you found sound fairly good so again depending on the use that might be a better option.

If anyone is looking to build a $400 budget computer, I just completed one for someone.
CM Elite 350 w/ 500W PSU - $60 (NCIX)
Intel G3258 - $70 (ME)
ASUS H87-PLUS - $60 (NCIX Open Box)
4GB DDR3-1333 - $40 (Craigslist)
Seagate Barracuda 500GB - $51 (NCIX)
ASUS R9 270 - $100 (Craigslist)
Comes out to just a few dollars over $400.
The G3258 I picked up was a dud though. Couldn't get over 4.0GHz without having to ramp it past 1.3v.

Yea it's annoying.. I've never had a price match get rejected for an online order, but in store it's a gamble. I remember I tried price matching something before for a couple of bucks off and the guy wouldn't even match it.

Online pricematch for me has never failed, so I usually do that.
ISPM has failed me a handful of times.

Looking to pickup a low end gaming monitor around boxing day... so far looking to choose between the ASUS VX248H and the BenQ RL2455HM ... both* around 180ish. Thoughts?
