probably just be league, csgo, and some other games nothing intense

The Intel. You can OC the crap out of that one... works well for games.

But speaking benchmark-wise, a GTX960 will be about 3 times faster than a 7750.

I don't know what processor you're running, but there should be no noticeable bottleneck if it's at least a FX-8320 and up. Anything lower, you'll probably see some bottlenecking due to the low IPC of AMD cores.

I've got an Athlon II X4 640 bumped to 3.4GHz, gf has a Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition. I derped and didn't realize my stupid Asus 7750 doesn't support XFire. So I can either buy a 77xx series card that does support XFire and link it to her 7770, or replace it with something completely different.

If I go used I'm a bit more limited due to being in Kelowna. Here's what I've been able to find local to me (I tried to sort out which would be best and have a guess but overall I'm lost):

PowerColor 7950 - $110
XFX 7970 DD - $170
MSI GTX660 Twin FrozrIII - $100
EVGA SSC GTX480 - $100
EVGA GTX750Ti FTW* - $135
Gigabyte GTX750Ti* - $120

*from what I can tell the 750 doesn't support dual GPU's for future use?

Am I better off with one of those, or should I pick up another 77xx for around the same money? If it's gonna cost much more than this I may as well buy a PS4.

edit: The GTX660 is the minimum requirement to play this game...fuck this shit.

Can someone recommend a shop that can replace a keyboard on an ultrabook?

I have an Asus Zenbook Prime UX31A, and also purchased a replacement keyboard (because one my key is broken). I tried replacing it myself and it turned out to be quite difficult.

NCIX is charging $120 for the job :eek2:

Yeah, I don't recommend SLI'ing two shittier cards. Your CPU will probably bottleneck it too.

If you played, it probably wouldn't be too good of an experience, but I'd recommend you have at least a 660TI/760 or a 7870/270X.

Debating which one to get...

ASUS VG248QE 24IN Widescreen 1920x1080 144HZ 1ms HDMI DisplayPort DVI-D 3D Vision LED LCD Monitor - VG248QE

BenQ XL2411Z 24IN LED 144HZ FHD 1ms FPS/RTS Gaming Monitor HDMI DVI VGA HAS 3D Ready VESA - XL2411Z

knight604 05-14-2015 10:01 PM

Benq imo.

I've always been a fan of Asus.

heisenberg 05-15-2015 03:55 AM

g3258 vs i3 4160?

the i3 is pretty much only good for multitasking compared to the pentium.... correct?

jtrinh 05-15-2015 06:41 PM

I bought the XL2411 during boxing week. Been pretty happy with it thus far.

Looking for some advice on laptops, don't know much about processors.

I'm looking for a laptop for basic things such as email, Web browsing, YouTube.

I'm not sure if integrated graphics are able to handle HD videos or not.

Besides those requirements something under $500 and around 15".

Is there anything at memory express? Would need it asap and can't really wait for shipping. Tia.

[MS Store] Acer V3 - Broadwell i3 / 15.6" Touchscreen / 1TB HDD - $399.99 - RedFlagDeals.com Forums

Throw in a SSD for blazing speeds and you will still be under 500.

TOS'd 05-17-2015 05:50 PM

Anything good at memory express? I need it by tmr night unfortunately. Otherwise I would order online.

Razor Ramon HG 05-17-2015 06:24 PM

You can just walk into a Microsoft Store?

The listed hardware specs for Witcher 3 must be BS, because I fired it up fully expecting it to be unplayable and it's running at low/medium settings with a single 7770 without a problem (the card is capped out though).

So a while back I bought a corsair keyboard K95, some leds died during the ownership, about 24 and so i sent it in for RMA.

They are unable to replace/repair it as it is discontinued, so they are sending me the new version of k95 which is the rgb.

Pretty happy with the Rma process so far and during this process I bought the ducky 69 fire edition and am deciding to keep it and will be selling the k95 rgb.

how much you going to sell the k95 rgb for? thinking of picking up the k70 rgb...

knight604 05-19-2015 12:13 PM

Probably 170-180, quick sale ;p

Vansterdam 05-19-2015 03:28 PM

^is that ducky really better then the k95 doe lol

looking into getting the k70 rgb myself.

hookup the k95 for 160 =D

knight604 05-19-2015 04:05 PM

I've read a lot of reviews for ducky and their build is far more superior than your average company.

Also I find that it's nice to have a keyboard that is smaller than the k95.

The ducky keyboard came with a key remover which was nice and corsair left me a sour taste in my mouth after the leds died so quickly.

Lowest I would go is 170.

Hey everyone! I've been lurking this thread for a long time and got a lot of useful tips on building my new pc, just wanted to thank you guys and share what I did!

i7 4790k
MSI z97s sli krait motherboard
16gb Kingston hyperX Fury (2 sticks white 2 sticks black)
sli EVGA GTX 670 4gb FTW (had one already and got another for a good deal!)
EVGA supernova 850w gs power supply
Corsair h75 cpu cooler
Samsung evo 820 120gb ssd
WD Caviar black 1tb
NZXT Noctis 450

Thanks again!

Razor Ramon HG 05-22-2015 09:29 PM

Nice, how do you like the new NZXT case? I personally prefer the looks of the H440/S340, but I know a lot of people like the Phantom look.

bigzz786786 05-22-2015 09:39 PM

I personally like the look of the noctis 450! airflows good, they have a pocket of air at the top front of the case so i added 2 140mm fans up top and it comes with the 3 120mm fans at the front, the fan hub and control are an added bonus and the lighting for the back! Same chasis as the H440

twitchyzero 05-22-2015 10:06 PM

that's a clean case...you can hide your PSU and rads
good work on the alternating colour memory
did the bottom LEDs come with the case?

bigzz786786 05-23-2015 11:32 AM

Yep, the led's came with it, theres a button on the back to change to brightness or to turn it off. Thinking of putting leds inside the case tho, not sure if i want to do blue led inside, im thinking white led to show off the black and white theme

Jer3 05-23-2015 05:30 PM

nice build! hows the h75 for noise and performance? heard most of corsairs AIO water coolers to be kind of loud.
