How much for both? |
im considering just getting the z68 motherboard plus a 2500k. i would just use the integreated graphics (hd 3000) for now so it provides an upgrade path in the future. im wondering, is this hd3000 going to slow the shit out of me using photoshop? or with videos? web content? i havnt dabbed with integrated graphics in ages so im uncertain |
i thought this was a pretty good story to read: Any idea why my motherboard did this? - Beyond.ca - Car Forums |

where can i buy water cooling stuff? ncix has them but they're in their warehouse. |
For the z68 motherboard which would be a better choice? and why? Gigabyte GA-Z68X-UD3H-B3 or Asus P8Z68-V Pro? |
so brought the comp to memoryexpress...... supposedly ive got pins bent/crushed on the socket :suspicious: they say it looks like something was dropped on it.... wtf? i didn't do shit but they're like "we check all our motherboards before we sell them to make sure they're in working order" :suspicious: "so you're sol" so even if i brought it home and inspected the unit first i'd still be sol?? -_- :fuuuuu: the manager says he'll try and see if asus will replace it but won't find out for like a week but he doubts it.... that isn't good enough -_- but ah well i just want it ended with |
So they opened the box and static bag before selling it to you? They are probably the ones who broke it You could try bending the pins back into position. If you used a credit card to buy I would dispute the payment |
yeah that's what im thinking (they broke it) but there's not much I can do about that i'll wait and see what they say about a warranty issue before bitching to my credit card i guess |
Uhh they can't tell a board is in working order by just opening it and looking at it. Weird. |
yeah, i don't think ill ever buy from memoryexpress again -_- and the part about opening and checking every processor/motherboard before sale felt like a  shame they're closed could use some venting |
When I bought my MB they took off the socket cover for me to PERSONALLY check the pins and sign the invoice confirming it's not bent...do they still do that? :S |

i ordered mine during black friday though and they told me too many orders got through so they were actually out of stock and i was hounding them about it so they sent mine out the day i was told they received stock but yeah like i said i never got what you received in terms of a inspection confirmation |
I think you got a pretty good chance of winning a dispute with ME, seeing as no one signed off saying the board is intact. I think a bunch of other RSers who bought the same board around the same time also had the opportunity to inspect theirs before buying. |

Gigabyte: Max RAM frequency support: 2133mhz Realtek LAN chip 3 PCI-E x1 Slots 3 SATA2 + 1 e-SATA ports Firewire port on back panel built-in ASUS: Max RAM frequency support: 2200mhz Intel LAN chip 2 PCI-E x1 Slots 4 SATA2 + 1 e-SATA ports Built-in Bluetooth adapter I was in the same boat as you in terms of choosing between the two boards. I chose the ASUS board mainly because it had one extra SATA port. I have quite a few hard drives hooked up and I'm planning to add more in the future. Don't get me wrong, both boards are great. I've used ASUS and Gigabyte boards for my builds and I've been happy with them. ASUS adds a nice extra touch to their higher end boards as well by giving you an adapter that allows you to easily connect your case's power switch/reset cables to the motherboard easier. It's not much of a deal-breaker, but it helps out a lot when putting everything together. Hope this helps. Again, you can't go wrong with either board. |

I have blacks and greens in my desktop. I immediately noticed that happening with my greens. I thought it would be fine, but I read around that it can reduce the lifespan of the drive motors so I immediately disabled it. Since I've done that, I haven't noticed any "start up" sounds that you may be speaking of. edit: my bad for the double post, decided to answer another question. |

But to answer your question, they asked if I wanted quick mount..which is like them mounting the cpu and ram onto the motherboard for free..I said yes so they did it for me..(guess if anything happens to it they're on the hook?) The other option is telling them no you don't need quick mount, in which they took out the motherboard and let me inspect the cpu socket before selling to me..and I had to initial that I checked the pins were not bent (I originally thought they charged for quick mount but found out later they did it for free so let them do it) |
wtf i never got that option -_- makes me even more :suspicious: |

ERRR what? dude they are fucking with your head. Is not up to them to check all the motherboard to see if they are working or not. It is up to the manufacture. So you're telling me they open up every fucking box. Mind you that could be a skit load of box and during the busies month, unwrap every boxes then hook it up and test every single one of them? No fucking way. Wouldn't that consider used? If i were in your shoes i would told them straight up that "listen motherfucker, you think my ass is itching right now that i would buy this shit, bring it home break the fucking pin and drive all the way back here to exchange the same shit? :fulloffuck: |
