Just gave my old computer to my mum and moved a few things around, but this has driven me absolutely insane for the past 2 hours.

Anyone ever seen anything like this? Not only are the onboard Realtek drivers missing and the hardware cannot be found by the system, my Asus PCI WiFi card and USB WiFi dongle are not functioning as well, even after installing drivers. What the hell is going on here? Network adapters doesn't even exist under Device Manager and just shows up as "other devices". I've scoured over EVERYTHING online and have not found one single case of this issue where my computer literally will take no network adapters at all, including external ones. This is a clean Windows 7 install too...

Try installing the motherboard's chipset drivers first. Then install the network drivers.

Is this a fresh copy of Windows, or you just moved the hard drive from a working computer to another hardware set?

Installed the drivers via the mobo disc and everything worked

Now I've run into another really frustrating issue with my own personal build.

Core i3-6100
Gigabyte Z170X-Gaming 5
HD 7770 (temporary)
G.Skill DDR4-3200 2x4GB
Corsair HX750

The computer will power cycle nonstop till no end before posting the first time I power up every day until I shut it off via power supply, then after a few seconds when I turn the PSU power back on and start it up, no issues.

I've checked everything, removed all the hardware, same thing. I can see it shuts off before posting as the numerical LED post codes on the mobo haven't lit up yet. I have no idea what the problem could be, the PSU is totally fine as I've tried it on other PCs without a hitch. Any idea?

Did a CMOS reset, no more problems lol.

Although I've run into another problem. Windows Update hangs, I've tried all the software solutions provided by Microsoft and stuff people have said to do online to no avail, not sure why it just hangs on "checking for updates"

Also, related to Windows Update not working, I cannot find any drivers for these things either through Gigabyte's website or Windows Update given that it doesn't work...and I'm pretty certain that these devices not working may be the cause of Windows Update not working properly no matter what I try to get it to work...

Try turning off the fast boot option in the BIOS.

It's a clean install. There's going to be heaps of updates. It's not likely hanging but checking for a ton of updates. If you leave it checking for a day, then it might be hanging. But on my fresh installs, it can take hours.

Windows Update typically shouldn't take more than a few seconds to load up everything. I simultaneously did another clean install on another computer and it literally took all of 5 seconds to load up 200+ updates. Plus, using the scan for hardware changes option resulted in the system unable to find any drivers.

I cannot find a single Z170 chipset driver on Intel, and the only thing that came up when I used the driver update utility from Intel is an outdated USB 3.0 driver which I updated but it didn't help at all.

I thought BIOS drivers are typically distributed through the Manufacturer.

Wow that's a fast windows update. I don't think I've ever gotten that quick of a response off a clean install.

It's nice to have drivers backed up on a separate HD I've never used the system changes thing. Right click on the !, then update drivers with the drivers in hand is what usually works for me. Unless, there's an installer for it.

Yeah they are, but I guess the ones included on the disc were too outdated and they didn't update automatically so I eventually went on the Gigabyte website and found them after some digging

So the driver issues are now all solved, the final issue I have with this new build is not being able to get Windows Update working, it just hangs...I've left it running for hours and still nothing. I've tried every single fix I know provided by Microsoft and 3rd party fixes and still nothing. URGH.

I don't know what else to suggest other than downloading and installing service packs manually.

Followed some steps on a forum on how to download two specific Windows updates manually, and bam, just like the instructions said the updates started downloading and I'm now installing 265 updates.

I was wondering if I could get some help building a pc. My budget is around $500 to $600 for a gaming pc. Mainly all I need it to do is run Overwatch on max settings without any fps drops. I've been doing some research and I think I'm set on the I3-6100, but everything else seems to vary. For GPU RX 480 appears to be the best choice, but it is hard to find. What do you guys recommend? Any input would be greatly appreciated

From what I know, it's not a very demanding game. I built this just now based off what I've seen around. Are there any changes you would make or does it look ok

jonwon: that build is very similar to mine. I'm about halfway though obtaining the parts. I would estimate that your build can run Overwatch at medium to high settings at 1080p.
