Decided to keep my ASUS Strix 1060. So if anyone wants, I am selling an EVGA GTX 1060 6GB SSC refurbished at cost ($350). |
nice clean and dark lol only thing i don't like about the msi board is it takes a while for it to check everything before it boots and the m2 slot is right under the video card slot. http://i.imgur.com/XlMCw9y.jpg |

You practically built my next computer, but I am mostly concerned with noise. I may go mITX if more boards pop up, but the CPU and video card you chose are what I'm looking at currently. |
I'll stress test tonight to see what noise levels i get on the cooler and the gfx |
1050TI is an easy card to cool. Should be very quiet, even more so with the dual-fan variants as those ones all seem to be recycling coolers found on higher TDP cards. e.g. ASUS Strix 1050TI looks like it's using a similar cooler found on the GTX 970, which is twice the TDP at 150W vs 75W. For further temperature reductions, I recommend an undervolt as Pascal reacts very well to that (and a memory overclock) and a custom fan curve. |
card was pretty quiet for the stress test i did for about 30 minutes. temps got up to around 55 degrees the cpu cooler was also quiet but temps went up to 67 degrees at 100% for 30 minutes. so if that is too high might want to switch out to an aftermarket one. i do have the fans on the quiet fan mode stuff in bios I updated the msi bios and was about to get a bit better boot speed. seems like a lot of people are having the same issue for the ryzen chips |

nice...guess i'll join the party and post my first build.....Ryzen 5 1600x,16gb 3200mhz ram,Bios update released last week and was able to hit 3200 off the bat and tried a few games without it going to 2133 and i gain about 10-20 fps w/ overclocked ram squads i get about 70-80 fps maxed everything,Battlegrounds players unknown 90-100 fps on 1070 gtx with shadows on lowest and foliage on high...overwatch epic maxed at 290 fps and plays soo smooth. http://i.imgur.com/X7BYXWW.jpg ordered Phanteks LED 2 meter kit and was slightly too long for mini build but its okay cause i heard you could cut but i left it...1m would've done fine....you could control it to anycolor with MSI mystic led lighting software from the gaming app...its kinda bright as fuck tho :/ overclocked the cpu to 4.0ghz 40 ratio-1.7550 volts with 50c tempature and gpu stays at 40c with front fan maxed..little surprised squads didn't heat it up too much, havent found the need to overclock the GPU yet on 1080p gaming. |

i'm 99% sure I have the am3+ bracket is it interchangeable with am4? may be I should save it in case it works for tr4 |
it seems like the same bracket as well am2 am2+ am3 am3+ all the same one let me know if you would like to donate to me XD |
Been out of the build game for a while. Have access to the Intel Retail Summer Deal. Is it worth it these days? Is there a Ryzen equivalent at similar price points? Wondering if I should give Ryzen a chance instead. Shipping - $38 USD 7700k - $199 USD ASUS ROG Maximus IX Apex* Motherboard - $149USD + Tax/Duty |

The CPU discount is less than before but still a good savings. Street price of $449+tax vs $250+tax from RE. I'm contemplating upgrading just because my motherboard is dying and it's a pain to get a Z67/77 motherboard nowadays. Intel still has the edge over Ryzen for gaming and most tasks so at this price point I'd still say Intel. |
Looked at what I paid for memory in June of last year compared to the prices now and it's well over double. Holy shit |

hey guys. My MSI gt780dxr laptop is slowly shitting the bed. But I'm finding I never move it or take it anywhere. So I was thinking of just building a tower only and running it to my TV. Any recommendations for under 1200$ . I game occasionally and just want it reliable and somewhat future proof. |
the build i did was under 1.2k. should be able to play most games. can be cheaper if you shop around and can wait for parts. most expensive parts right now are memory and SSD |

Not sure yet |
the hardest thing seems like a finding a GPU in-stock,i just barely found mine in the nick of time. |
finally jumped the gun on a refurbed 144hz ASUS monitor from newegg for $260 ($290) after tax currently have 120hz benq which is like super super old will give review / differences on csgo when I test 120/144hz lol thinking of selling the gtx 970 I bought from ramon earlier this year and getting a GTX 1080 for $650 , should I buy something else or is it okay |

Most video cards can't push consistent action sequences at 144fps on ultra @ 1080p, so manage your gaming quality expectations. |
