He says 1080P... and I think he's confusing AA with AF. 16x AF is not too big of a deal... 16X AA I would really like to see! |
the AA i was talking about was with Metro 2033, with BF3 im running full out with just the stock "maximum" settings, 1080p on a 24" Dell Ultrasharp |

But I'm not sure if 2x 560 is gonna be the same. I'm guessing it would be a bit faster than a single 580. The cost of 2x 560 is around the same as a single 580 |
Might upgrade CPU/MOBO/RAM/GFX this christmas.. What's the differences between a Z68 or P67 board? Last time I paid attention to chipsets was P45/X48  |
I talk about it a bit in my Gigabyte GA-Z68A-D3H-B3 Review |
Also good article here on advantage of Z68 and SRT: The Intel Z68 Express Review: A Real Enthusiast Chipset : Z68 Express Chipset: What P67 Should Have Been @RennSport - but then with the 580 he has the ability to SLI them in the future. Thus trumping the 560Ti SLI... And the price difference between two 560Ti and one GTX580 is not much. |
ALWAYS go for single card over SLI when you can. SLI introduces issues like compatibility and framerate stuttering. |
Yea, I guess I should just go with a 580... also, how would the maximus IV extreme Z compare with gigabyte's Sniper 2? |
does anyone know much about the "TPU" switch on my mobo? should it be on/benefits? automatic optimization of clock speeds? so will it kick up the i7 2600k? here is what i'm running Metro 2033 at and some screens http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y13...1-24-24-76.jpg http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y13...1-43-08-78.jpg http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y13...yer/tunnel.jpg during almost any scene/action i dont drop below 20FPS, so i wouldnt think 20 is great? but everything in high action time is very smooth, i'm using stupid "Fraps" to take screen shots, anyone recomend any other screen shot program? my prt screen isnt working to take stills.. |
It must be nice to find 20 fps to be playable |

2x 460 is not > Gtx 580 |

You dont feel the choppyness when playing at 20fps? AdF.ly - shrink your URLs and get paid! this video will show u the difference |
Is there a reliable program to display FPS? Or should I just try to search down commands to display in game? Because what FRAPS is showing doesn't seem to reflect the actual gameplay I'm experiencing, besides areas with massive detail and tonnes ambient lighting there are almost no slow downs even in high action situations Btw, anyone know much about the TPU switch on my mobo? Automatic clock speed optimization? Seems like a good match with the 2600k but from reading on overclock.net the general sentiment is that it's better off manually overclockin than using the switch? Im pretty sure fraps is limited to showing 20 fps even if youre not recording google "fraps 20fps" |
