The deals are NOT that good TBH. The good stuff is probably the monitors (prices seem to be the same for past 2 other sales Ive been to) and certain laptops (educated guess). The rest are either warm deals or stuff not worth freezing your balls off for. e.g. that white Antec case for 50 bucks. Its avail online right now for same price brand new, and during Boxing day it was $40. Plus buying an Antec case in this day and age is kind of dumb considering how much more refined and better value their competitors' cases are. |

i think ill go to mem express tomorrow morning. ill be in the black northface jacket with fur on the hood lol. dont be afraid to say hi :alone: |
Looking to build a budget gaming rig for the sole purpose of playing Diablo 3. Trying to keep the budget around $500 (not including Monitor/HD/CD drive). I don't care about over-clocking and all that shit, just looking to play D3 at max details + movies and shit. I've done up a few builds on NXIX but am looking for another opinion. Thoughts on processor/mobo/graphics etc? Thanks |

Blizz recommends the following "OS: Windows Vista®/Windows® 7 (Latest Service Packs) | Processor: Intel® Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHz or AMD AthlonTM 64 X2 5600+ 2.8 GHz | Memory: 2 GB RAM | Video: NVIDIA® GeForce® 260 or ATI Radeon™ HD 4870 or better" so I think $500 is pretty do able, no? I can go above $500 if really needed to meet max specs on a 24" screen, but yeah, wanna keep it as low as possible. |
M4 0309 firmware out. never had any problems because not at 5k hours yet, but installed it after reading some feedback on the new FW. |
Any suggestions on better choices for a desktop mainly for gaming and schoolwork.. Specs are : Case: Corsair 500RR.. dont know much about cases, however this was recommended for me Processor: i7 2600k 8MB Cache 3.4ghz Or i5 2500k Motherboard: asus p8z68 vpro heatsink: corsair hydro h70 liquid cooling --> Dont know if i should just stick with fans instead of liquid cooling memory: Corsair vengence 16gb HD: 1TB Seagate barracuda sata III with 64mb cache video card: evga GeForce GTX 560 Ti 2GB GDDR5 PCI-E w/ Dual DVI, HDMI or 448 cores power supply: Cooler master 600 watt extreme power plus OR Corsair CX600 V2 600 watt --> is this enough or too much power? Any help with lowering price without hindering performance would be much appreciated ! Also, it just fits under my budget of $1500 taxes in. |
Can someone recommend me a build for around $700 before taxes? Friend wants it for gaming..(Diablo 3, BF3, etc) Planning on doing an i5 2500k build, since it seems like the best bang for the buck for gamers right now. I took the items off ME because they offer free assembly. mobo: GA-Z68MA-D2H-B3 Gigabyte GA-Z68MA-D2H-B3 w/ Dual DDR3 2133, 7.1 Audio, Gigabit Lan, CrossFireX / SLI at Memory Express ram: GSKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB PC3-12800 GSKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB PC3-12800 Dual Channel DDR3 Kit (2 x 4GB) at Memory Express GPU: HIS Radeon HD 6870 1GB GDDR5 HIS Radeon HD 6870 1GB GDDR5 PCI-E w/ Dual DVI, HDMI, DisplayPort at Memory Express CPU: intel i5 2500k 3.30 GHZ w/ 6MB Cache Intel Core PSU: Silverstone Strider Essential 700W Power Supply Silverstone Strider Essential 700W Power Supply at Memory Express Case: Zalman Z9 Plus Case w/ Fan Controller Zalman Z9 Plus Case w/ Fan Controller at Memory Express Total $724.94 before taxes/MIR Could anyone chime in on this build? I'm not too sure which mobo/ram/gpu is suited for this budget. I know more $$ should be spent on the graphics card, but I think going i5 2500k is better bang for the buck vs going AMD at this budget point. |
Where were you when they had the boxing day deals? Could have saved enough to go crossfire on 6870's which is what I have :) but build looks fine. Just get a decent air cooler. I recommend hyper evo, then u can get a nice OC Posted via RS Mobile |
