Used

https://www.mikescomputershop.com/item/8145674

with tax+shipping obviously

but sold out, it was live for a while

and used is a good price all around for every video card

just picked up the 144hz asus 1080p for $260 + tax , so $290ish

literally 2 minute walk from my house to the newegg warehouse near 5 road and jacombs

super simple to pick up, show order number, photo id, credit card and boom, a lot faster than NCIX warehouse

some scratches on the stand, no dead pixels, a bit dirty but wiped and cleaned everything off

didnt come with dual DVI or display port, only HDMI, so i had to use the Dual dvi from my old 120hz to get 144hz

cs go looks 100000x more smooth than my 120hz BENQ monitor

it is day and night comparison, i thought i wouldnt notice a difference that much but the colors are super obvious as well (the asus being a lot more vibrant and colourful than my BENQ)

ordered last night at 10pm, got an email at 9 am to pick up the next day

I keep reading online articles that claim crypto miners are now dumping there GPU's on Ebay. I keep checking Ebay and I don't see it. Any crypto miner would be an idiot to sell their GPU's.

twitchyzero 07-19-2017 08:43 PM

the 970 can't run cs:go @ 1080p144?

good to know re: NE warehouse pick-up

Mr.Money 07-19-2017 10:04 PM

yeah right....my 400 series 1.5gb gtx on the craptop from 2005 played it at 240 fps lowest settings.....it should easily reach it.

also looking into a 144hz display,240 is something like 2.1ms faster than 144....the hugest leap ur gonna see is going to 144 from 60 display..

so yeah...i saw afew pros with 144hz just killing it..im gonna go that way.

Verdasco 07-19-2017 11:12 PM

it can run it at 175-250 fps in certain spots

rather get a gtx 1080 and run it consistently at 300FPS imo

I might be looking for the wrong cards, but I've yet to see anything "cheap" pop up when I've looked. For a used card it seems to be the same price as buying local once you add shipping.

Ethereum cryptocurrency is not crashing or dying off as some will lead you to believe. It isn't as good as when it peaked, but it's still profitable.

lilaznviper 07-21-2017 02:30 PM

there is still a huge shortage so there is no reason to sell it at a low used price as before.

ebay usually shipping will kill the deal. best would be to find used locally or keep your eyes on websites for stock.

underscore 07-21-2017 11:33 PM

You're telling me, my old cards cost the same now on eBay as what I paid for them new 5 years ago (granted on sale back then). Wtf.

roastpuff 07-22-2017 12:13 AM

I just got the Rift thanks to the $549 summer sale. No tax free shipping pretty sweet deal.

Mother of God. VR is amazing.

Peturbo 07-23-2017 09:34 AM

^ I was very tempted when seeing the price of the rift. Where were you able to find it with no tax + free shipping?
Thing is I've had my eyes so set on HTC vive for awhile now but just haven't pulled the trigger yet cause of price.
Has anybody tried both?

Vansterdam 07-23-2017 01:02 PM

^ same.

I want the htc vive but the rift price is solid lol

If I can still get the 550 deal no tax + free shipping might have to

I think if you order it directly you can save on tax. If you order thru a place like Amazon you pay tax.

I've tried Vive in a demo, and Rift here. Vive room tracking is amazing with the Lighthouses but I hear it has more issues overall in terms of support (can only do SteamVR, not Oculus exclusives and SteamVR combined) and the controllers are not as good. The price is a big barrier as well since HTC hasn't dropped to counter - I'd buy Oculus at $549 vs Vive at $800+.

Like mentioned below I ordered direct from Oculus. 549, no tax, free shipping, no duties (ships from US).

You can get it until late August but you may get the new kit which doesn't include a XB1 controller and Oculus remote.

Yep got it through Oculus directly.

Peturbo 07-23-2017 08:57 PM

Just ordered mine today! could not pass up the deal with no tax and shipping

twitchyzero 07-23-2017 08:59 PM

gamers nexus is usually more technical than what I can understand...but they did a build at console pricing, surprised how far $500 can get you

Congrats, you will have fun!

Robo Recall is awesome fun, Echo Arena is interesting (possible new e-sport, think Ender's Game Zero G ball game), lots of other cool VR games that are included in the bundle.

I just spent 1 hour watching Youtube videos on Bigscreen VR. Amazing. :sweetjesus:

Peturbo 07-24-2017 06:49 PM

Current build that I built this spring. Put final touches in recently

i5 7600k, gigabyte g1 gaming gtx 1070. Got the video card before they were scarce.

PC gaming doesn't have to be expensive. I built my tower nearly 5 years ago for around $500, it's nothing crazy but it played everything I asked it to without problems. I upgraded the GPU a year and a half ago for ~$100 with a used one off eBay. This year I swapped out the mobo and CPU only because I got a great deal on something more powerful. It may not be top of the line but considering all the other uses a PC has I'd say it was very good value for the money.

twitchyzero 07-24-2017 10:39 PM

i remember $750 new builds were great value around that time

now with the stupid memory, ssd, and video card prices, $500 doesn't get much. In that video it's really the advancement in processing power of low-end systems that is able to push 1080p60 at decent settings.

i still dont know how i feel about used, older GPUs, they could've been overvolted or mined to its last legs but i guess for $100 it's worth the risk

It comes with the Oculus remote + xb1 controller ?

Thought it was just the Oculus remote

The "full" bundle (i.e. old bundle) came in 2 boxes. Box 1 = Oculus HMD, XB1 controller, Oculus Remote, 1 sensor, cables etc. Box 2 = Oculus Touch controller x 2, 1 sensor.

New bundle is Oculus HMD, 2 x Oculus Touch controller, 2 x sensors all in 1 box. No remote, no XB1 controller.

Peturbo 07-25-2017 08:50 PM

Been reading on the oculus forums and there seems to be about 7-8 waiting period for processing and another 3-4 days for shipping.
Current packages getting shipped now still seemed to be the old ones with XB1 controller.
I'm not counting on it though since they have changed the product description since I've ordered with no mention of the XB1 controller being included
