and used is a good price all around for every video card
just picked up the 144hz asus 1080p for $260 + tax , so $290ish
literally 2 minute walk from my house to the newegg warehouse near 5 road and jacombs
super simple to pick up, show order number, photo id, credit card and boom, a lot faster than NCIX warehouse
some scratches on the stand, no dead pixels, a bit dirty but wiped and cleaned everything off
didnt come with dual DVI or display port, only HDMI, so i had to use the Dual dvi from my old 120hz to get 144hz
cs go looks 100000x more smooth than my 120hz BENQ monitor
it is day and night comparison, i thought i wouldnt notice a difference that much but the colors are super obvious as well (the asus being a lot more vibrant and colourful than my BENQ)
ordered last night at 10pm, got an email at 9 am to pick up the next day
I keep reading online articles that claim crypto miners are now dumping there GPU's on Ebay. I keep checking Ebay and I don't see it. Any crypto miner would be an idiot to sell their GPU's.

I might be looking for the wrong cards, but I've yet to see anything "cheap" pop up when I've looked. For a used card it seems to be the same price as buying local once you add shipping.

^ I was very tempted when seeing the price of the rift. Where were you able to find it with no tax + free shipping?
Thing is I've had my eyes so set on HTC vive for awhile now but just haven't pulled the trigger yet cause of price.
Has anybody tried both?

I think if you order it directly you can save on tax. If you order thru a place like Amazon you pay tax.

I've tried Vive in a demo, and Rift here. Vive room tracking is amazing with the Lighthouses but I hear it has more issues overall in terms of support (can only do SteamVR, not Oculus exclusives and SteamVR combined) and the controllers are not as good. The price is a big barrier as well since HTC hasn't dropped to counter - I'd buy Oculus at $549 vs Vive at $800+.
Like mentioned below I ordered direct from Oculus. 549, no tax, free shipping, no duties (ships from US).

If I can still get the 550 deal no tax + free shipping might have to
You can get it until late August but you may get the new kit which doesn't include a XB1 controller and Oculus remote.

Just ordered mine today! could not pass up the deal with no tax and shipping
Congrats, you will have fun!
Robo Recall is awesome fun, Echo Arena is interesting (possible new e-sport, think Ender's Game Zero G ball game), lots of other cool VR games that are included in the bundle.
I just spent 1 hour watching Youtube videos on Bigscreen VR. Amazing.

PC gaming doesn't have to be expensive. I built my tower nearly 5 years ago for around $500, it's nothing crazy but it played everything I asked it to without problems. I upgraded the GPU a year and a half ago for ~$100 with a used one off eBay. This year I swapped out the mobo and CPU only because I got a great deal on something more powerful. It may not be top of the line but considering all the other uses a PC has I'd say it was very good value for the money.

i remember $750 new builds were great value around that time
now with the stupid memory, ssd, and video card prices, $500 doesn't get much. In that video it's really the advancement in processing power of low-end systems that is able to push 1080p60 at decent settings.
i still dont know how i feel about used, older GPUs, they could've been overvolted or mined to its last legs but i guess for $100 it's worth the risk
Been reading on the oculus forums and there seems to be about 7-8 waiting period for processing and another 3-4 days for shipping.
Current packages getting shipped now still seemed to be the old ones with XB1 controller.
I'm not counting on it though since they have changed the product description since I've ordered with no mention of the XB1 controller being included
