I'd disable 1 and 2 as well, they seem like they'd be fighting with 3 and 4 unless they're perfectly matched up.

I can't decide between i5 or the ryzen...went with intel cause back in the days all i trusted was intel. But the more threads on the ryzen is tempting...

MOTHERBOARD - MSI Z270 GAMING PRO CARBON LGA 1151 Intel Z270 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.1 ATX

COOLER - Hyper 212 LED with PWM Fan, Four Direct Contact Heatpipes

RAM - G.SKILL TridentZ RGB Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 2400

CASE - MasterBox Lite 5 ATX Mid-Tower Case with DarkMirror Front Panel

WIFI ADAPTER - Rosewill RNX-AC1300PCE Wi-Fi Adapter

PSU - Rosewill ARC Series 550W Modular Gaming Power Supply

HDD - WD Blue 1TB Desktop Hard Disk Drive - 7200 RPM SATA 6Gb/s 64MB Cache 3.5 Inch

SDD - SAMSUNG 850 EVO 2.5" 250GB SATA III 3-D Vertical Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) MZ-75E250B/AM

With a copy of Windows 10 Pro comes to approx $1300 before tax. Are these parts good? Should i really just ditch intel and go amd?

I dont plan to stream while gaming but.. who knows lol

Did you see my build on top of page 202?
1362 before tax and without the the PSU added

Pretty similar to what you want asides no wifi adapter.

Could swap the case but the builds pretty similar prob best option for you around ur price range

Instead of Newegg use PCPartPicker it's dope for finding the cheapest price on parts and you can see what the prices were the past year to compare

Update:

It seems like it was the ram after all. Haven't experienced any restarts after replacing the ram sticks. You guys have no idea how relieved I am to finally know what was wrong after 2 years lol. Thanks for all the help boys.

Rocking an ASUS VG248. Been quite happy with it, Overwatch looks so smooth even in Epic (using 980Ti).

Not even a debate bruh :fuckyea:

Mr.Money 08-15-2017 09:03 PM

27'' 60hz to 32 144hz would be worth it,just purchased the budget 144hz i posted above and its back down to 250....can't wait...i think my 1070 gtx can support 1440p 144hz but the cost is almost the whole budget of my tower alone..

I would go two front one back.

I would like to know what's the best setup for watercooling.
some say 2 front 1 back, then 2 sucking air out from the 240mm radiator

Mr.Money 08-15-2017 10:51 PM

^^^...push & pull set-up on the radiator...1 in-front & 1 in back x2...you could but its just another 1 or 2 degree difference and lot more noise.....they designed the radiators not to be so restrictive now a days.

Vansterdam 08-16-2017 01:42 AM

Currently rocking a 27" 144hz .

With a gtx1080 and 1440p all the new games barely push about 80-100 fps on max settings

If I can sell my 1080+ monitor , I'll grab a 1080ti + 32" 144hz monitor lol

god damn sandisk ultra ii ssd crapped out on me today after 2 years..

anyone have experience with the samsung 850 pro/evo? seems very popular and highly regarded

asian_XL 08-16-2017 06:48 AM

have been using samsung SSD since it first launched, slight problem in the beginning where its service centre had to "re-format" it in their special secret way, after that no more problem for 3 yrs.

urrh 08-16-2017 12:29 PM

got my 850 evo about 2 years ago. no probs

lilaznviper 08-16-2017 02:27 PM

i've been running intel for years and never had an issue.

think i had 3 samsung evo crash on me in the last 3 years

roastpuff 08-16-2017 02:56 PM

Running Samsung 850 EVO 500GB, been great. Love the performance.

Razor Ramon HG 08-16-2017 03:00 PM

Samsung makes great SSDs, but I'd only really buy them if they were on sale and within $5-10 of the other SSDs.

Used Sandisk Ultra IIs in the past with no issues, and currently using a Crucial MX300.

Performance difference on traditional SATA SSDs are negligible for most use cases.

twitchyzero 08-16-2017 09:06 PM

my Sandisk Extreme from the Sandforce days is still doing well

I've owned various EVO and PRO from Sammy since...they're pretty much industry leader in performance and endurance

Razor Ramon HG 08-16-2017 10:29 PM

Someone from Telus came by today to let us know that they'd be running fiber in my neighbourhood (near Moscrop Secondary).

She said that we could have up to a 1Gbps connection once everything is set up for around $150 a month.

:fuckyea:

Happy with my Internet 150 from Shaw right now, but I wouldn't hesitate to jump ship if a good Telus promotion came up.

Hope you're prepared for some serious a$$ reaming. I happened to have an SSD boot drive die on me recently as well, and I was shocked to see how bloody expensive the drives are now (compared to late last year).
