Also any DDR4 Ram recommendations?
I put in an order for PNY 16GB 2400 DDR4 that's temporary out of stock. Not sure if it'll match up well with my build?

I'll stick with either corsair or kingston memory for the most part in my builds

After look at your link I see mine is double sided Samsung die.
Is this a bad thing?
I remember reading somewhere that the single sided Samsung are the ones to go for as they run/overclock better?

twitchyzero 09-06-2017 10:06 PM

lol I was just marveling at this exact same card earlier this week thinking it was an one-off
didn't realize dual-PCB used to be a thing

Vansterdam 09-06-2017 11:48 PM

Thinking about selling my GTX1080 for the 1080 ti

Worth the upgrade ? I game on 1440P so that boost would be good

twitchyzero 09-07-2017 01:07 AM

you'll only see a 20%ish gain

unless you need to push 4k, it's not a very good value long-term

i would rather sell the monitor and get g-sync like the XB271HU...slightly cheaper than the 1080 Ti and will give your money a run for much longer than a video card can

Vansterdam 09-07-2017 03:49 AM

Already got a gsync monitor although I wanna upgrade from 27" to 34" lol

If I do def need to get the 1080ti I like to run max/ultra everything on 1440p :megusta:

Vansterdam 09-07-2017 03:53 AM

Speaking of monitors, the Acer predator 34" is on sale right now hella good deal, cheapest it's been

https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B016GNX4SE/?tag=pcp0f-20

twitchyzero 09-09-2017 12:49 PM

^ even cheaper now...but still the budget of an entire capable rig BibleThump

plug: unloading some dell gift cards if anyone's in the market for new monitor, laptop, video card etc...stack it with ebates and coupon codes for maximum win

lilaznviper 09-10-2017 12:21 AM

I might be interested if you are upgrading :)

Any recommendations for 140mm case fans? Or just stick with the ones that come with the case?

Unless they are producing a lot of noise, I would just keep them until they break. If you really want to replace your fans, I would get Noctua fans. They are pretty quiet in general.

Wish I had seen this a week earlier. Just bought this from Best Buy for $219 (lowest price locally at the time of this post).

Btw Best Buy will price match Memory Express but they only beat the difference by 10%, not the total price.

joquio 09-23-2017 09:37 PM

Finally got my parts in to start the build.
Still have five RGB fans coming :bowrofl:

Any one can recommend me a good place to get white or black/white extension cable for Mobo 24pin and pcie?

I know about cablemod but is there any other cheaper alternative?
They want bloody USD$20 just for shipping some cables.

Not sure if I want to go down that rabbit hole..... lol!
Is it really such a hugh difference?
Plus I think I’ll need a 1080 Ti for 1440p @ 144hz, no?

NCIX newegg and amazon sell cablemod cables. Also check ebay.

Razor Ramon HG 09-24-2017 01:08 PM

If you have a full sized case and a PSU shroud, extensions might be fine and is cheaper.
