yep windows installation via legacy has no prb seeing the drive and it installs fine and boots fine under legacy, the bios in uefi mode just doesn't see it. It's OK, not a deal breaker at all, thanks for helping.

I see, UEFI is a remote interface based on firmware?

From what I understand it needs to be defined in a boot manager.

You might have some luck playing around with, EasyBCD.

There's also a post saying they're closing stores in Ontario.

I liked how it's easy for me to pickup stuff without having to drive 30 mins away anymore. It would be pretty sad to see them close. I find with them, you have to know what you want, I've never really needed customer service from them.

if they're screwing people out of 30 day returns on defective electronics now in 2017,i could see why nobody wants to deal with them, damn - i had 1 hard drive burn out on me and NCIX paid for the return shipping and quick turn around time getting me a new hard drive back in 2013.

^ that's why I won't deal with TigerDirect. They kept screwing around until their coverage time had expired and not actually sending me the return shipping label or any of the stuff needed for an RMA. Then I had to contact the mfr directly. They were confused as to why I waited so long and was contacting them directly about a DOA product until I told them what happened.

Twice now my computer has completely turn off all of a sudden. Have to wait a few minutes before i can press the power button on again. Friends say its my power supply. Currently, I'm using a CX750M. It's been only 3 years and i lost the receipt. Any suggestions on a replacement?

judging by the near perfect reviews on NE it looks like their latest platform is still a solid bet

Anything from EVGA that's 80+ Gold.

They're all rebrands of high tiers platforms, but you get EVGA's superb support and they're usually on sale with rebates.

Anyone ever dealt with a PCI-E wlan card slowing down over time? I have a TP-Link Archer T6E 802.11ac that supposedly gets 867Mbps. When I first built my computer last Christmas I was getting about 180mbps on Shaw's speedtest. Half a year later I'm down to about 2mbps - 30mbps if I'm lucky.

Updated the driver, checked the connection, played around with the antennas, nothing. My router and my tower positioning hasn't changed since then. Bought a USB wlan stick for my gf's computer beside mine and hers gets 180mbps no problem. Plug the same USB stick into my computer and I get the same 180mbps speeds too.

Anyone know what happened here with my PCI-E card? Surprised it died so fast... I always thought having a PCI/E wlan card would be better than getting a USB stick, but now I'm not so sure anymore :|

^ get asus for networking stuff....they can be buggy at launch but they update them very often and for the most part are quite reliable

does anyone know of a m.2 to pcie wifi adapter? the ebay photo looks like the soldering is done by high school kids...guess it's cheap enough to try it

apparently an industry-wide problem when cherry-picked press kits do not represent retail units...seasonic has started shipping reviewers units from newegg instead

I've owned the T6E and the T9E before. I think the antennas on it are just poor quality.

I repurposed an ASUS antenna base from a different card and it improved my connection greatly.

I've since moved on to a Fenvi T919 for my Hackintosh. No issues here at all.

If you're looking for another TP-Link product, I'd get the T9U. It's about $80 on Amazon, but I had absolutely no issues with it when I compared it to my T9E. The T9E would give me spikes and packet loss in PUBG, but the T9U was perfect.

Happens everywhere. But a solid platform is solid regardless if it was a cherry pickled sample or not.

I ended up getting one of these by ASUS

Stupid thing is.... I bought one of these USB sticks by ASUS for $25 less for my gf's tower and it's consistently faster than my PCI-E.

Hella choked lol, I tried everything from positioning the antennas right beside the USB stick, plugging them into the same tower, etc. I think I'm going to return the PCI-E and just buy another USB for my tower lol..

Lol, same thing from what I noticed with the T9E and T9U.

Kinda weird because everyone else says to get PCI versions, which theoretically should be better with the bigger antennas.

Unless the bigger antenna is picking up more noise because it has more range?

yeah pcie would generally mean less lower overhead

if you have too much time on your hands, try sticking the pcie one in your girlfriend's computer...personally I would just get the usb because you know that already works well

I initially thought dead PSU, tried using diff PSU. Same thing. (Tried the original PSU on a diff PC and everything works fine)
Tried jumping the power switch manually on the mobo, still nothing (I thought maybe the switch was faulty?)
Tried resetting all the ram and GPU...same thing

Just RMA the motherboard today
The guy said usually take about a week, but I was just reading some online forums saying how Asus often takes weeks to even months to RMA their mobo and GPU
The model I have is also discontinued. (Z170i Pro Gaming) and I am pretty sure they won't try to repair my original mobo.

Anyone has experience with Asus motherboard RMA?
