sure is, asus P6T Deluxe lol

the original build was from 2008.. had a gtx 285 in her

My current computer is barely playable on bf5. GTX 970 is just not cutting it. I have a 144hz monitor and I would like to see fps over 50 lol.

Picked up all these parts and will be building it this weekend. Haven't built a computer in a while. Cant wait!

Intel 9700k
Asus Strix Z390-E
Asus Strix RTX 2080
Corsair Vengeance RGB PRO 32GB
Corsair Hydro H115i PRO
Corsair RM750x
Corsair Obsidian 500D RGB
Samsung 970 EVO M.2 NVMe 500GB

and tons of other Corsair LL RGB fans lol. I'll post pics soon.

he i7 9700K tops the i7 8700K’s six cores by only a couple of frames per second. All in all that accounts to a roughly 4% increase in overall performance across our benchmarking suite compared to the i7 8700K

True. Only a very small increase but I am not upgrading from a 8700k. Coming for an older i5. The 9700k was only $25 more than the 8700k. Thought might as well get the newer one.

Laid out all my gear and just started building on it. Forgot how much fun it was.

Bringing it over from my old PC. Made a difference compared to using just motherboard. But I am not sure if this new motherboard is better than the soundblaster or not. Drivers are horrendous for Creative products tho.

lilaznviper 01-04-2019 11:55 AM

corsair should sponsor you with the amount of corsair gear

asus components are just not what what they used to be
my ROG zenith extreme board has been a piece of shit
6 mos in the wifi disconnects even with driver update, a year in the simple oled have half the pixels half-lit

my experience with gigabyte boards have all been solid, should've stuck with them

Mr.Money 01-05-2019 05:37 AM

doesn't gigabyte have a repair shop in Vancouver somewhere so you're not sending it away for weeks to USA with paying high shipping costs?.

underscore 01-05-2019 09:59 AM

I hated my Gigabyte board, granted that was ~7 years ago now. Overall I suppose it wasn't *that* bad but it has some really stupid stuff in the BIOS.

gilly 01-05-2019 12:12 PM

DONE! Took me about 3 hours or so. It actually didnt boot up the first time haha. I forgot to plug in the power button from the case to the motherboard. Always scary when it doesn't boot up at first haha. Here are some pics.

Vansterdam 01-05-2019 03:57 PM

Haha yeah.. wasnt cheap. Started collecting parts since late September. Bought most on black Friday and boxing day.

The only thing wrong from your partpicker was the GPU. I didnt get the Asus - GeForce GTX 1070 Ti. Its the RTX 2080.

Thought about getting a white case but I don't think the Corsair Obsidian comes in white. Also all my peripherals and PC parts were black. So I kept with the black theme.

Thought about switching to the Corsair headphones to keep my Corsair "theme" but I love my hyperx. Really awesome headset.

Mr.Money 01-05-2019 07:42 PM

the real question is,did you manage to get your ram to 3200 on the bios?

SkinnyPupp 01-05-2019 08:01 PM

What I'm curious about is, what colour do you leave it on for normal use? Right now your computer looks like the Pride Mecca LUL

I have an RGB keyboard, and I leave it on a nice low amber colour. Easy on the eyes, visible in low light, but doesn't take attention away from the monitor. Like a jet cockpit

https://i.ytimg.com/vi/uixMj3lqoqI/maxresdefault.jpg

PS this isn't to make fun of you if you actually are showing off gay pride. It's just a comment based on how it looks like such a gay trope, and no matter what, is definitely going to burn your retinas eventually LUL

Razor Ramon HG 01-05-2019 11:04 PM

I have a Razer keyboard that's RGB. I leave it on the closest thing to white (can't get pure white off RGB) or leave them off.

haha this is my first time owning anything that is RGB and I am still trying to figure out what color settings I like. I also rarely work/game in the dark. My room is usually pretty lit with lamps. Amber looks pretty nice.. going to give it a try.

twitchyzero 01-06-2019 12:10 PM

annoying thing about RGB is if you have a buncha different manufacturer there's no easy way to sync everything

ie having a white glass case i just want everything purple, but it's a pita to set up because the asus software conflicts with the g.skill one which doesnt play nice with the msi one...and the corsair one only works in windows so it's a giant mess during bootup and some of it is still running when the computer is shut off BibleThump

Vansterdam 01-06-2019 03:28 PM

its nice to have diff manufacturer RGB cuz some games would take advantage of it. like farcry 5 the corsair keyboard changes color. for fornite my razer keypad/mouse changes color
