^ Been looking at ultra wides but I think I'm going to go with the super ultra wide. Really liking the LG and Dell's 49" 1440p displays, pricy but I generally run two monitor anyways.

Go with an AMD 3400G APU so you can ditch the GPU and go with faster ram.

I just got a new-to-me Gigabyte GTX 970. The second the drivers install, the fans go to max and are really loud. Without the drivers it stays quiet so I don't think it's a hardware issue. Suggestions?

download afterburner and see what your temps are...could manual lower them if it's too loud, but i question why they crank up to the max if no games are straining it.

I installed Afterburner and changing the fan speed setting up or down has zero effect, the RPM feedback reads 0 though which I'm guessing is causing the problem.

Linus is upset. really upset.

I like how he released that at midnight and then released the Threadripper video 6 hours later with the new Core i9 in it.

I just bought this monitor for $399. It's $499 on the site but drops to $399 when added. It also says out of stock but they keep adding stock so you just have to keep refreshing.

It a 144hz 1440p IPS panel.

Got an e-mail that my order has been canceled. I called in and they said the item has been discontinued. The monitor was just released on October 1st. Something seems fishy.

underscore 12-03-2019 05:39 PM

That's definitely fishy, nobody discontinues a product after less than 2 months unless it's massively defective or something.

I'm still having issues with my GPU, I've tried flashing the firmware and a few different drivers to no avail. I forgot it's missing one of the three fans though, the card itself has a four pin connector which goes to a little jumper harness. The missing fan has three wires at the plug and the other two fans have two wires. All the replacement fans I can find on eBay are four wire though. Should I just order three new fans with a new harness and be done with it?

SaviorSelf_666 12-06-2019 11:13 AM

Gave a shot at hard tubing, went with arcrylic. Not as hard as I thought. Also upgraded to a O11 Dynamic XL and added 2 1TB 970 Pro Plus M.2s, some new ek rads and a new d5 pump.

What problem are you having with the GPU?

underscore 01-20-2020 10:31 PM

^ somehow I missed your reply, sorry. The fans ramp to max RPM as soon as the drivers are installed. I think it's because it's getting no speed feedback from the one missing fan as that's the only 3 wire fan. I tried to order replacements but all the replacements are 4 wire.

When replacing a secondary drive and copying all the files over it, how can I ensure everything copied without any errors? I know I can generate checksums but there's thousands of files in hundreds of folders so that would take ages.

You could use Clonezilla. It's block level cloning (with many options) and you can set it to run a CRC check to ensure the image is restorable.

This could be a steal for someone. 1000 watt corsair PSU no cables $40.

https://www.facebook.com/marketplace...2768023952738/

You can get custom cables from cable mods.

bigzz786786 01-28-2020 01:48 PM

^messaged the seller hopefully it's still available, my 850 watt died and never got around to replacing it.

Was using a Dell R510 for my serving needs but hit the limits for adding a GPU.

Built this recently and sold my Dell R510, runs silent compared to my Dell and sips power compared to it as well.

Mainly used as Plex/VM/Secondary Gaming Rig. Still a WIP, trying to hide the HBA card.
