Anyone have suggestions on an affordable 27" 1440p monitor? Looking for an additional monitor for a WFH setup and it won't be my main monitor so it doesn't have to be a gaming one or anything. Additional note: I don't mind spending a bit more (than the budget) of my own money if monitors are going to be much better than anything the $225 can get me.
Alternatively, what is the closest or best thing I can get with under $225 including tax? This is the budget that the company will pay for a WFH monitor. From a bit of research it seems to be limited to 1080p. Additional note: if using the budget they provide, the monitor remains the property of the company.

Reason: Additional notes

You won't find anything at that price point for what you're looking at.
With a $225 budget, you're looking at 24" 1080p monitors with no height-adjustable ability. 27" fit within that budget, but it's gonna look like ass.
Yea, I found some 27" 1080p ones on CanadaComputers which are a possibility. But the benefit of the higher resolution is preferred for my work.
With that said, I don't mind spending my own money (provided its not super expensive) for a secondary monitor for my home computer setup. And this I would like a 27" 1440p monitor. It wont be for games and ideally can be run in portrait mode without a third party stand.

Started to rack a new router and switch that I ordered from Ubiquiti, some pretty slick hardware. Still waiting for some items to rack my NAS and get some other items to organize it all.

You know what's funny, that lighting bar on the wall was interfering with the wifi.at my buddy's house. Switched router and everything and it wasn't until he randomly unplugged it and shit... took a full yr and a half
Recently upgraded to a new mobo/cpu/ram set-up and re-used my SSD with Windows 10 on it. Everything works fine without a fresh install of windows, but I suddenly lost 20~GB of space on my SSD. I can't figure out why, anyone got any ideas?
Anyone have tips on calibrating a monitor to get it more suited for video editing?
I'm switching from editing vlogs from my MacBook Pro to my desktop (picked up an i7-6700 for real cheap from a friend, upgraded from an i3-6100), I just have a generic LG ultrawide.

I wanted to do a clean install of Windows 10. I had a Windows 10 USB drive to make the install. Wiped the SSD and tried the install. Got an error, 0x8007025D, during the install. I've tried every suggestion from reddit and online and I keep getting this error.
I've remade a bunch of USBs using different programs (Windows Media Tool, Rufus, Unetbootin, cmd prompt). I've tried a bunch of different USB sticks, microSD card.
I removed all the Ram except 1 stick. I unplugged all unnecessary hardware. I've played around with Legacy, UEFI, secure boot, default bios settings.
I bought a brand new SSD as well to try and the install still didn't work.
Anything I missed that I should try?
The only fresh install I managed to get working was a Windows 10 release build. But it's so old that the Windows updates don't work. My thinking was I could install an older Windows 10 and update it to the latest. So right now, I do have a SSD that has the first Windows 10 build. However I want the latest.

Have you tried a build that's somewhere between the latest and the release build? Alternatively, try "upgrading" from the release build to the newer one.

Have you tried using different USB ports, including different USB 2 and 3 ports with the install?

I know the lastest build of windows won't install on some older chipsets. i tried to install on a 2nd gen i5 and didn't work.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I did manage to fix it and what underscore suggested was pretty much what I figured out after lots of testing.
I had the release build installed via USB drive. I downloaded a build in the middle of Win10's current life cycle and ran the upgrade in Windows (mounted ISO). I then had a mid-build of Win10 and ran the built-in Windows Upgrade which offered the latest build as an option. Now I am fully onto the newest version.
Glad to have this 3 day ordeal over with.

Does anyone have experience with custom loop cooling systems? I recently purchased a custom built PC off my friend (it was his brother's so he doesn't know too much about the inner workings) and I believe it has a Corsair Hydro X system in there.
I don't plan on overclocking anything, so not sure how useful a cooling system is for me.
I'm just worried about how much maintenance I will have to do for it? How often? Are there computer shops that can help with maintenance or even take out the system entirely?
Any help is appreciated. Sorry I'm a PC noob and my friend just gave me a good deal I couldn't refuse.
post up a picture. it will be easier for us to see if its custom or closed loop. Most people now a day just do a closed loop as no maintenance needs to be done
Welp, my mobo caught fire lol. It was on its last leg anyway. Couple years ago i tried overclocking on an 850w psu, fried the psu and mustve shorted part of the mobo since even a cpu fan and system fan connector didn't work anymore.
Luckily my 1tb barricuda hdd, i7 4790k, 16gb ram and sli gtx 970 were fine, so i just gave them to my brother and decided to upgrade.
Got a white fractal design meshify c midtower (always went nzxt full tower)
6 120mm rgb fans
Ryzen 7 3800x (comes with the rgb wraith prism)
G.skill trident z 3200 16x2 ddr4 ram
Gigabyte X570-P mobo
Gigabyte rtx 2070 super
1tb 860evo
128gb 860qvo for boot up
Hxi 1200w
Cablemod pro in white
Gonna have fun building this lol.
Now im contemplating on an msi monitor. My choices are either 32 inch 1440p 144hz, 34 inch 144p 100hz, or 32 inch 4k 60hz. All rang from 599 to 699 so very close in pri e. any suggestions?
Make sure you get fans that are ARGB fans like the Fractal Design Prisma. You can get a few splitters and then just sync up everything using Gigabyte RGB Fusion.
EDIT: Nvm, see that it's an old PSU.

Yah, the 1200w psu i ended up getting for 150 a few months ago, works great so might asxwell keep it.
I got the full set of pccooler auroras rgb fans with a fan hub that are rgb fusion compatible, unfortunately its stuck in blaine with the boarders closed lol. Currently using my nzxt fans and 2 splitters until it arrives.
