So tempted to pick up the 3070 and be done with this shitty 2060.

fuck ya im sooo down for a 3080..maybe even wait it out for the 3080TI.. (upgrading from a 1080TI)

but wondering if my i7-4790K can handle it lmao. fuck I just realized my PC is 6 years old now.

might be time to start a new build and start buying parts as they go on sale..

looking for something that will last me for another 5+... gonna RGB the fuck outta everything this time :fullofwin:

bigzz786786 09-02-2020 09:55 AM

Oh man, definitely gonna sell my 2070s for a 3070, best bang for the buck since im only running a 1440p monitor

most likely will need to upgrade to take full advantage of it since it will be using pcie gen 4

PCI-E 3.0 won't bottleneck the 3080 at all.

I'd upgrade purely because Ryzen 4000 is going to be amazing and run laps around the i7-4790K, which is like seven years old now.

Jmac 09-02-2020 01:55 PM

Sounds like a good time to upgrade my 6700K, GTX 1070 setup.

ime2006 09-02-2020 08:12 PM

LOL

I am so sorry to those people who bought my RTX 2080TIs for 1000 last month....
RIP RTX 2080TI

snowball 09-02-2020 10:48 PM

I'm just going to ignore the gpu news for a while since I have a Strix RTX2060 and it's not even the SUPER :alone:

I'm running 1440p right now too and think with the 3080 it be the perfect time to switch to a 4K monitor

wreck 09-03-2020 07:48 AM

does the 10gb vram of the 3080 bother anyone?

i'm sure a 'super' or ti edition will be release next year to slot in between the large 3080 - 3090 gap with more vram.

saw that. 10gb ddr6x 3080 vs 16gb ddr6 3070ti.

i guess even though the 6x has more bandwidth the extra 6gb more than makes up for it

gilly 09-03-2020 11:28 AM

yo 2080 and 2080ti are SOOOO cheap on ebay. omg lol.

They are gonna get even cheaper once the 30 series are released i bet.

Manic! 09-03-2020 11:50 AM

GPU mining is getting popular again. Right now the 5700xt is the king of price/performance.

Mr.Money 09-04-2020 01:39 AM

360hz 1080p monitor & 3080 rtx sounds like a god build right now for a gaming computer...

11th gen intel cpu's just released for mobile laptops,no word on desktops yet...but 20% performance gain on laptops...prob still be 100% okay with 9900ks if u already have one.

SkinnyPupp 09-04-2020 04:24 AM

360 hz what? BrokeBack

Vansterdam 09-04-2020 07:12 AM

man 4K monitors are still expensive af. think I may just stick with 1440P and go for something between 27-34"

wreck 09-04-2020 07:33 AM

my issue isnt price, it's that all the 24-27" 4k 120hz+ monitors have rgb/gaming style aesthetics - that doesn't work for me.

ideally, i hoped, Dell would have a 4k oled (or even 4k 120hz ips) monitor in their ultrasharp series by now.

i'm itching to build a new system, but need a pair of monitors first.

how far away is micro-led lol?

Now, i am wondering, what kinda performance on mining for 3080 and 3090

Thinking getting 3090 this month if they are available.

So far....Graphics card market is fked by 3000 series.

I still have few 1070...i think i better put them in my glass shelf with spot light on it.

SkinnyPupp 09-05-2020 09:33 PM

I'll be surprised if you can unload that 2070 for a good price... Video cards have been insanely overpriced the last 2 gens, and now they're normal priced. A lot of people got caught with overpriced cards now

ime2006 09-06-2020 12:28 PM

AMD BigNavi just got leaked

pretty much same performance with RTX 3080

But only cost $549!!!!!

Somehow this info tells me, Jensen knows inside stories about AMD Navi performance and cost.
Thats why Jensen puts 3000 series tag price so low!!
