That video really makes me want to grab a LG CX 55" OLED to game on with a RTX 3080.

Highly recommend AGAINST the 2060, even at 1080p, unless you get it free or close to it.

Lol wut.

RTX 2060 at a price point of $230 is amazing and perfect for 1080p gaming.

"lul wut"

If $230 is a hard cap of how much you are able to spend, and you can only buy brand new, then yes

But no, it's not really good for 1080p gaming. Take it from someone who has used one since launch. Don't just believe the screamy faced youtubers. You will NOT be able to use ray tracing. And DLSS does NOT work well at 1080p. Games like Control which everyone says looks amazing, will look like shit on this card at 1080p.

If you literally only have $230 (but really $300 something in Canada because taxes) save up a few months and maybe the 3060 will be out, or maybe you can afford a $500 3070 by then. Or get an Xbox S

Your argument might make sense if this card was being sold for MSRP, but it's literally $260 after taxes. You know what retails at that price point? GTX 1650.

Just because the 2060 doesn't perform well with raytracing enabled =/= the 2060 being a bad card for 1080p gaming.

You're forgetting that raytracing is an optional feature and only works for like a dozen games.

Before I upgraded to a 5700XT, my 2060 easily pushed 60 FPS at 1440p. If it can do that, it can do 1080p gaming at even higher refresh rates.

If your 2060 can't do that, there's something wrong with it.

2060 at $195 USD sounds more reasonable

Just don't expect too much from it. Certainly not 1440p60 in modern games with decent looking settings (actual games, not benchmarks), and definitely not ray tracing at 1080p.

it's official my laptop has more ram than my desktop. I got a crazy deal on 2x32 gig of oloy ddr4 ram from amazon.com. It was $50 US. With shipping duty and taxes just under $100 can. My laptop has 8 gigs soldered ond one slot free. So now I have 40 gigs in my laptop.

3090 rtx is only 8%-10% more fps than 3080 rtx at 4k....but massive 24gb video memory for media creators.

low stock sucks ass but it is what it is..i'll be surprised if any of you got one right now.

yeah you can buy a next gen console later in the year but it'll be old technology in 1 to 2 years while you're PC is near future proof

RTX 3070 or the new AMD card that sits between 3070/3080 would be my recommendations.

SLI 980's are probably not much faster than a single 980, but it depends on what he plays.

But yeah, the 3070 or whatever AMD is about to announce that Nvidia is hiding the 3070 from (they delayed the 3070 until after the AMD announcement) is probably what he should target. That's what I'm looking at as well for 1080p high refresh

Anyone having any luck buying a RTX 3080? Still can't seem to get one in my hands after all these weeks.

Could've bought a Zotac one for a little over MSRP from CL, but it doesn't fit in my case.

rumor has it nvidia is stock piling 200,000 for north america...production isn't very hard this time around..aka memory shortage.
timeline for these were suppose to be end of of October to November

also buying 2nd market gets you no warranty if something breaks.

i'd love OEM nvidia 2080 rtx though...so much design input of having the case around the GPU.

these silly 3 fans with cooing coils seems aged.

For 1080p gaming, is it worth getting RTX2060 over a GTX1660ti?

the 2600K might be bottlenecking a bit - unsure until we see the game. I know that once I swapped from a 2600K to a 3600X on Escape from Tarkov I saw a 30+ FPS jump on my 980Ti

Nope. Get the 1660Ti.

Thanks. What's the reasoning for this?

I've been reading a lot of reviews and getting mixed responses. I'm just worried about my video card being outdated too soon as I only upgrade my system every 6-7 years or so. I'm currently using a GTX 970.

I'm not a hardcore gamer though, but I like playing games like Assassin's Creed, planning to play Horizon Zero Dawn and Cyberpunk. (I don't really play multiplayer FPS games)

Also, each video card seems to have different prices that can vary within $30-40 even when the models are the same. Is that just due to brand or is there differences in specs?

Like this 1660Ti that's $430 (regular price)
https://www.canadacomputers.com/prod...item_id=135361

or this 1660Ti that's $390 (regular price)
https://www.canadacomputers.com/prod...item_id=135281

And there's other 1660Ti that has the "OC" in the title. I'm not sure if that means it's actually overclocked and therefore faster, or is that just marketing.

If you're not in a rush, I can sell you a ASUS ROG Strix RX 5700XT for $450 once I get my hands on one of the new AMD or NVIDIA GPUs.

$430 unit has RGB lighting, higher clock speeds from factory, and may have better cooling/overclocking potential.
