I did set the BIOS to raid mode, but once I rebooted I got an error when booting into windows. So I had to go back to normal and IDE in order to even be able to load my PC. Either way I think I figured it out. I just went on to the gigabyte USA site and found the "EZ Smart Response" program. Installed it, I think I finally got it working. Kind of stupid that a BIG selling point for the z68 was the SRT technology but the software isn't on the disc. |
Nevermind, FUCK, this is bullshit, I followed this video It did exactly as it said it would. So I thought it was all good, it rebooted twice etc etc and it all worked fine. Then I shut off the computer, rebooted, then I get "DISC BOOT ERROR, PUT IN RECOVERY DISC AND HIT ENTER" ARGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHH....so had to reboot, enter BIOS go back to IDE mode just to be able to type this. So then again, I click the "EZ Smart Response". It says its gonna reboot twice, etc etc just like before, but only this time I get the "DISC BOOT ERROR, PUT IN RECOVERY DISC AND HIT ENTER" again. WTF??? ANyone have any suggestion before I lose it on my PC. Is this normal? http://i452.photobucket.com/albums/q...0927-00085.jpg |

Ok, I've wasted like 3 fucking hours on this on something that was spose to be like 5 mins. FML Thanks man, I'll look it over and try again tm before smash something else. |
After wasting another fucking 2 hours, I think I give up for the night. First couple hours was just reboot after reboot of the same fucking thing. So decided to uninstalling all the software, resetting the sdd to non raid, reformatting the ssd, manually changing it back to IDE, reboot it. I figured try SP's way from scratch. Looked like it made progress, it went to raid mode, rebooted into windows (FINALLY!), I could then install intel RST (2 CHEERS!), then looks like everything is working. Click accelerate the main drive, and everything seems great. Then I shut it down and reboot the fucking thing..... I get the same thing I got all night again. "DISK BOOT ERROR, INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND HIT ENTER" Totally time wasted....5+ hours. :fuuuuu::fuuuuu::fuuuuu::fuuuuu::fuuuuu::fuuuuu::f uuuuu::fuuuuu::fuuuuu::fuuuuu::fuuuuu::fuuuuu::fuu uuu::fuuuuu::fuuuuu::fuuuuu::fuuuuu::fuuuuu: |
Wait,... You're reinstalling in IDE? You need to reinstall in RAID config on the BIOS for native support. Check if you have both plugged into the intel controller, and not the ASMEDIA ones. I see you have two HDD's? Check to see if you have the cached drive as your main boot drive after reconfiguring it. |

But end result....boot error. So I'm at a loss. When I manually go into BIOS and set it to RAID, it won't boot. So I tried EZ smart response and Skinny Pup's suggestion. Which went exactly as expected, it auto rebooted into windows fine. Everything works. BUTTT once I shut it down and boot up the comp again, it has the boot error message. I googled it, and found a few people had the same issues. I tried their fixes but still didn't work. People with this issue said to re-add the RST drivers again and their problem was fixed. But for me it still wouldn't boot up. Belaud> When you say plugged into the intel controller I'm not too clear what you mean. I just have the SDD plugged into one of the sata II ports. I assume you mean try setting the first boot drive to the SDD in BIOS? Should I update my BIOS? I bought the mobo like the first week it came out and have never updated it. (If it aint broke why fix it right? lol) |
Go into the BIOS and make sure you have the correct drive set as the #1 boot drive in the order. The SSD should be at the bottom |
Ok so question here. I recently bought a new 77 series motherboard chip. I thought I could run my old i5 processor on it but apparently it is a 1155 socket so it won't fit. But I bought a i3, so can an i3 run Diablo II along with 8GB RAM, Zotac 650, and the 77 series motherboard smoothly? What are the downsides versus the i5 |

not much downsides...you save $$ and can play most games however some CPU intensive games include Civ5, BF3, GTAIV |
how are Kingston SSD's? I know they are not known for speed but heard they are at top with Intel on reliability... |
Not really the right thread but I don't think my question deserves its own thread, Anyone own a mechanical keyboard? I recently used one in my school's lab (older IBM) and it was so HNGGHHH. The keystrokes were so crispy. I've been looking online and I found this http://www.amazon.com/Cooler-Master-Storm-QuickFire-Rapid/dp/B0068INSUM/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1349080820&sr=8-2&keywords=mechanical+keyboard Anyone got any input? No real budget just want to try out a good mechanical keyboard. I got a 3 year old saitek currently that just feels like mush. |

I just bought Logitech G110 from ncix for $69.99. Used it for a couple min and first impression is its pretty good other than not getting used to the macro keys. Give it a search on ncix. It also had programmable backlight lol. Posted via RS Mobile |

If you are interested to save $35...buy it from fs/bb pricematched...and return that brand new unit to ncix |
Nuhhhhhhh dammit. I don't want to go through the hassle of returning it and waiting it to ship but I save $30. RAWRRRRRR No wait. Price match it? I see what you're getting at. Sorry never price matched Posted via RS Mobile |
I have to ship it back as RMA. Annoying from ncix to return Posted via RS Mobile |
if you are in vancouver..walk into futureshop on broadway...ask them to pricematch newegg....take your brand new keyboard and drive a few blocks down to ncix and ask for a refund...they won't make you eat 15% restocking fee since it's still brand new. 20-30 min of your time to get back $30 lol...worth it if you happen to be in the area |
Coquitlam best buy has 3 left. 36.99 after price match. The key macros are a bit different, I need to get used to them. But I think once I get the hang of it will be a pretty good pickup. Posted via RS Mobile |
I opened the box. I called NCIX and they said 15% restock fee. Thats about $10. Save $25, I'll probably get it all done soon and get a keyboard at fs/bb first |
^ you simply return the unopened one that you'll be buying at fs/bb to NCIX i do that on occasion if i already opened something |
So I'm looking to upgrade from a casual gaming laptop to a casual gaming desktop. Do you guys think around 800-1000$ budget will do or should I up my budget? Looking to get opinions on what I should get not really a geek head so pretty noob at this lols Only game that I play that's graphic heavy are Diablo 3 & GW2. Posted via RS Mobile |
