800gb ssd!?!?!??! how much are those

SkinnyPupp 11-17-2012 06:07 PM

800GB are $2000 each, which is actually really cheap compared to previous drives this class

200GB are $500 each

Will be testing them this week, then I think they'll be going into my system. No more mechanical drives for me! :fullofwin:

twitchyzero 11-17-2012 06:37 PM

damn...you get to keep them?
I wonder if new SATA standard will be out soon...current SSD are already saturating their potential

SkinnyPupp 11-20-2012 03:33 AM

Probably not something most will be interested, an ATX FM2 board. It's a good one for the price though! MSI's first digital PWM:

Crucial Low Profile Performance RAM Available Today :sweetjesus:

Seriously though, get anything that matches your specs and size needs. Look for something with a lifetime warranty

knight604 11-20-2012 03:51 AM

How much is it? Looking to get 16gb

SkinnyPupp 11-20-2012 04:01 AM

Crucial ain't cheap, you can get a set of G.Skill 1600 for like $65 or Kingston for $70 instead of $80 for these Crucial ones

knight604 11-20-2012 09:35 AM

I don't mind spending that price.

I like crucial's products.

knight604 11-20-2012 10:17 AM

Do they have that in 16?

SkinnyPupp 11-20-2012 10:22 AM

As long as their RMA process is good, I say go for it!

Find out though.

I just did an RMA with Crucial and it was smooth and quick

knight604 11-20-2012 10:30 AM

I dont plan to OC anything.

These are my specs:

Intel Core i7 920 processor
ASUS P6x58D-E mobo
VisionTek Radeon 5870 Graphics card
Mushkin 6GB (3x2) HP3 1333MHz RAM
Crucial M4 256gb 6gb/s SATA3

AzNightmare 11-20-2012 10:51 AM

Is it just me or does anyone else think warranty's a bit overrated?
Maybe I'm just misunderstanding, cause I never had to return anything before.

But is this the process of RMA? Ship item to manufacturer, wait 3 weeks, get replacement product?

Educate me if I'm wrong. That's just what my hunch was.
Cause if a major component dies out and restricts me from being able to use my PC, there's no way I'm waiting 3 weeks being computer-less.

knight604 11-20-2012 10:57 AM

It depends because some people are just unlucky and get factory faulty products and need to do the RMA instead of losing money.

I know for my old G73SW laptop , i had free warranty for 2 years and if they cant fix it , they would send me a new laptop and at this time it would be bumped up to G75VW.

Hey guys, I got 2x2GB in my system right now, and would like to upgrade to 8GB. Seeing that 8GB can be had for $40. Would it be better to throw my 2x2GB out? or use it with the 2x4GB and have 12GB of ram?

I don't plan to OC, so it doesn't matter to me.

LuHua 11-20-2012 09:01 PM

It wouldn't hurt to try with the 2 sets, as long as the voltage and timings are correct. If you can match the brand and series, even better. If you fail to boot, just take out the old ones.

Get the 8GB, put it all in and see if it plays nice. Be sure to use the settings of the slowest ram, and the highest voltage. If you can't get it working, toss the old stuff out

Has to be a Canadian Retailer and product has to be In-Stock from the store you want to pricematch from.

Any suggestions on GPU's? I have the 560ti now. Should I SLI it? Or get a GTX 670? Or maybe a Radeon card?

SkinnyPupp 11-21-2012 05:24 PM

Single card is always better than SLI. A lot of the time with SLI, you are trading frame response for frame rate. Frame rate is nice, but not as important. Not to mention the extra heat and power consumption
