I the DZ77GA-70K and it's pretty awesome for the short time I spent with it. Unfortunately it got killed with a BIOS upgrade going from beta to retail
If you're worried about overclocking, don't be. It has all the features and an interesting interface. Works perfect with their Windows based OC program. Other brand boards only have partial functionality in this software.

How would you compare it to the motherboards from MSI, Asus or ASRock?
I'm not planning on overclocking right away but it is something that I will be keeping in mind when I build the system

It's probably better than any $160 board you can get, due to the sale.
Any more and I'd probably get a Gigabyte UD5H

So I'm trying to install windows 8 64-bit with the windows upgrade installer.
Doing a fresh reinstall on a new PC.
I have a legit windows 8 key.
I want to make sure the installer detects and gives me 64-bit win8,
If I install a dl copy of win7 64 bit first, even without activating it, can I still use the win8 installer to upgrade?
I vaguely recall someone mentioning this "trick" would ensure windows 8 64-bit gets installed...
But not sure if it worked for everyone.

Can you do the same thing with the Win8 upgrade that you could do with the Win7 upgrade? Ie install it without a key as a "trial" then run the upgrader and enter your key? Starting fresh in 7 was much better than formatting Vista and then upgrading.

Upgrading with Win8 works better than prior versions of Windows. If I can 'accept' it, anyone can |

| Kind of a simple question...
I just installed windows 8, but I can't figure out how to get sound to work.
I got my speaker cables plugged in and trying to use onboard sound.
My mobo is ASUS P8Z77-V LK.
Do I have to install the RealTek drivers or is should it be automatic?
Edit: nevermind. got it working now.

hey guys I bought Black Ops 2 for my little bros on release day and they been buggin me for a gaming headset for PS3 about a week now, lol, mom can't stand the shooting sounds blasting from their room.
What are your recommendations, best quality set for under a $100 after taxes ??
they keep telling me Turtle Beach like it's the best brand or whatever, but I wanted to check in with experts in here before I buy it for them, gotta pick up today though so recommend away please, and thanks

The best gaming headsets are from Astro Gaming, they are hella expensive. I got the A40s and I love them.
Turtle beach, Sennheiser, Tritton headsets are all nice. Find one thats below $100 after taxes is hard
I guess these would be enough for your lil bros http://www.futureshop.ca/en-CA/produ...5bcc8875d1en02 |

thanks for replies, I wasn't looking to buy anything used especially something somebody else wore on their face, lol, no offense brah I'm sure you got clean ears.... that's a clean lookin headset, very slick looking
but yea went to future shop and was gonna grab Recons recommendation of P11, but saw another p21 for just $20 more and it looked like it had more options a bit better build quality too so grabbed that.....
They got all excited when I brought it home finally they could communicate with their cousin online without literally having a house phone next to them doing it that way, haha, friggin kids nowadays, they know nothing about bunch of friends sitting around a N64 console playing Golden Eye together side by side like back in the day, lol...
but I didn't know you need that PS3 AV cable that comes in the box too hook up the headset, I thought it was USB only, unfortunately my mom threw the PS3 box out while ago and now I'm on a hunt for the AV cables... fckin no stores carry it
so I called the Sony store to ask if they sell them separately and the funniest shit happened, older sounding accented (chinese I think) salesman picks up and I ask him do they sell Playstation 3 cables separately, he replies "HDMI?" I say no, and apparently that's as far as his cable expertise went so his next reply immediately was "go call Circuit City" so firstly I'm thrown into confusion, cuz this guy isn't even doing his job obviously doesn't wanna help me, and goes as well that Circuit fuckin City is an American store chain, we dont have them here..... me all confused and kinda pissed ask him why is he so lazy, if he doesn't wanna do his job pass the phone to a manager, so this dude flies into a fit literally tells me to "BE QUIET!" in a hilarious accent, and I stop to laugh for a few seconds taking this all in.....
so I go, "Look here telephone tough guy, all I'm asking you is to do your job that's it.. but I can come down we can talk about this face to face"
the he flies into another fit yelling about "You wanna make enemies, you wanna make enemies !!! " and at that point a younger salesmen seemingly must've overheard what this dude was saying and took the phone right out of his hands helped me out told me to try Superstore or EBgames.
Did NOT expect that from the Sony store, been in there a few times, dudes are suited up lookin professional n shit, but that shit was tooooo funny I wish I had recorded the convo yall would have had a good laugh

Before that, I will have a review of the Gigabyte Z77X-UD5
Also planning on reviewing EVGA's mini-ITX Z77 board, really looking forward to that one

Make sure ur case supports that radiator... U need a 2slot fan space at the top of our case or if u attach it at the back outside, u need a hole to loop it in but its gonna be really tight fit for the tubes...
I went with the Corsair H80, works nice... Posted via RS Mobile |

Been hearing mix reviews with some reports saying build quality has gone down this time around |

^ last I checked the grinding pump noise was fixed by a firmware update
skinny i'm surprised you are doing UD5H review now...that's been on the market since april. The evga stinger z77 m-itx looks nice...do smaller boards have less OC headroom because I assume they have less phases?

TBH I have had this board for a very long time, and have been using it to test other components. But it's not like there are new boards coming out every week, and it is a VERY good board, so I am looking forward to putting up a review.
