power supplies that comes with a case is garbage. you're better off spending money to buy them separately

exactly what he said, the psu that comes with the case is usually around 400w or less are not modular or sleeved.

Your better off getting a psu atleast 700w, go for corsair psu.

The SSD uses a "SandForce SF-2200" controller.
Is this the same sandforce controller that's notorious for being bad?

btw, what are you using your computer for?
surfing, gaming, video editing, etc?

Any 2x4GB DDR3-1600 RAM is pretty standard. (various people will vouch for different brands)
Go 2x8GB only if you're doing heavy video editing stuff.
The only thing that seems to somewhat matter is whether the heatsink profile are too high for your cpu cooler.
But if you're using a stock one, it wouldn't matter then, since stock coolers won't interfere with the RAM slots.

edit: btw, I think your mobo/cpu combo is out of stock now. That bundle at $300 is a pretty good deal.....

hey guys what should I do for a video card ? got a 660 gtx right now, runs every game I've tried on mostly maxed out InGame settings at 1080p, stuff like BF3, FarCry3, NBA 2K13, etc... and that's all with my Nvidia control panel set to full quality, so things like AA is on 4x, AF is set to 16x, and everything else preset for maximum quality.

But I wanna be able to see truly max every InGame setting to ULTRA, would like to be able to be able to go past 8x AntiAliasing, and have it all run v-synced at 60fps...
Should I bother upgrading what's already working pretty good, or should I wait a few months when some newer games and newer video cards come out then get it done then ?

The only two games I will be playing in the future when they get released are Rome Total War 2 and Battlefield 4

Hey, just noticed your pricing doesn't seem correct here. (typo?)
It cost 119.99 at NCIX, and 109.99 at MemEx.
Not sure where you got $59.63 from.

Just thought I'll mention it so you don't get surprised later on.

I've just installed CoreTemp on my desktop and I'm hitting 15C idle and 20C right after playing LoL. Whats a good way to test how much I can start overclocking things (ie what'll push my temps consistently so I can watch them)?

I ran Prime95 and just the default stress tests, I got up to 27-28C on all cores according to CoreTemp, with a brief spike to 29 on stock clocking. Time to OC a bit?

Just wondering, is your room like 5 degrees or something? Never seen a cpu hit 15C idle, that's below room temp in almost every case O.O

I like using OCCT as a good all in one solution, with Prime95 as well

Also those 15/20c temps don't seem very accurate, try several readers to figure out the proper measurement. Take a look at what it says in the BIOS, and also check out what the motherboard manufacturer's software says

rest of the setup is i7 3930k with Corsair H100 liquid cooler, and intel SSD, X79 Asus sabertooth mobo, with 32gigs of ram...

so wait a few months for new cards to come out then? ill put aside a $500 budget for a card then, should be good enough right? and i could still probably sell the 660 for i dunno $150 or somethin like that ?

OCCT, SpeedFan and CoreTemp all show the same temps give or take a degree, I'm about to check the BIOS and the Gigabyte utility tells me.

edit: BIOS read 27C right after idling for a while, and Gigabytes EasyTune6 tells me 22-26C at idle, which is 10-12C above what everything else is telling me. Why are all the other utilities off by so much, and how can I correct them?
