^Haha okay, thanks for the honesty. xbox360 it is I guess
You'd need to invest at least $350 in it to get it marginally playable, so I felt that a console if you don't have one already might be more enjoyable for you. especially since ps3 and xbox getting so much cheaper now. Posted via RS Mobile
Too bad he needs it right away, UltraBooks are going to be The Next Big Thing.
UltraBook is a spec defined by Intel where the laptop must be 20mm thick at most, 3 lbs max, powerful, 5-8 hours of battery life, use SSD, and cost under $1000 for a mainstream model. Basically, MacBook Air killers
Maybe they have started to come out, look around... some models are Acer 3951, Asus UX21, UX31, Levovo U300S, Toshiba Z830. Should all be around $1000. I'd go for the UX31 since it is the only one with a high resolution.
Ultrabooks aren't available here yet. Asus will probably be the first as they're available for pre-order from ME. Looks good but StylinRed looks like he wants a gaming laptop in which Ultrabooks are not.

im not into the whole super thin/light thing
i like having my bdr optical drive etc or id have gotten a vaio z
thin + gaming performance + optical drive would be nice though
I'm also looking into buying a 17" gaming laptop. After some research, i've concluded that the only viable brands are sager(np8170), msi(gt780r) or asus(g74sx). I'm leaning towards sager right now and most people recomment it over all the others.
Edit* just ordered a sager but its only the 8130(15" version) Still 1080p but lighter so its all good.

ME got their shipment of Ultrabooks (Asus UX) in yesterday. I was in-store buying a video card when the cart literally rolled in front of me and some employees were like "OMGULTRABOOKS"
my friend just got me a mid end VAIO Z for $1000 USD, same model retails for 2600USD. since he works at Sony R&D, he can pretty much built me anything at cost. The only catch is that none of these have a serial number or windows. he can even do a clean install with only factory drivers as long as I can provide him with a legit windows key.
He could only build one unit for himself a month. He promised me he will make me the top of the line Z next month!!
Maybe they haven't logged/tagged them yet and they are just sitting in the back, or something. In any case, I'm sure they will be on the sales floor soon.
has anyone considered going with tri-monitor 1080p all in landscape set-up?
I may be able to get screens for cheap but I am wondering just how much video card power one would need to play high settings (not ultra) on BF3 @ 5760x1080...have to wait for it to get benched first i guess
someone claimed 40 fps with overclocked 6970 in CF on alpha trial (he does only have 4GB ram though)
