Supply and demand. In this case, there is a huge demand for it in China for cheap android tablets.

Usually hardware pricing rarely goes on sale in the late Winter/Spring time...but it does seem to have been inflated this time around.

There you go, no need to look any further. $109 for a drive that is as likely as fast as it gets for this capacity.

If you can't get in on that sale, get a Kingston V300 instead. Should be the same price (which is why the sale at Newegg is so great) and performs very well (will be publishing a review soon)
Threw it in to a PM at NCIX. I like no shipping and less wait. Now to see if it'll be approved...

So NCIX won't do $109, but is offering me $119 instead. Take it? Pass?

It's been too long since I've been in the building scene

How about a Samsung 840 for $100?

NCIX - Buy Computers, Computer Parts, Laptops, World's Leading Discount Computer Store

And they'll have some new deals tonight as well (so the Samsung 840 deal will be gone after today)

Why not get the Kingston HyperX from Newegg.ca

Don't get the Samsung 840

Newegg is another $10 in shipping and I have to wait. I pricematched that HD to NCIX and that's what they came back at me with.

I guess I'll call them tomorrow and accept their pricematch. I like local, personally. Plus I'm impatient and want my shit.

At $119 with no shipping and get it right away, I'd go for it. Maybe try Memory Express?

TBH any SandForce with full synch MLC is worth at least $1 per GB, especially at the low end (price per GB naturally goes down as capacity goes up)

Looking at other 120/128 drives in that price range, I don't think you are going to get a better deal. You might find an async drive, or one with a crappy controller, but unless they are significantly less than $120 I wouldn't bother.

Thought of MX, but their only stock is in Winnipeg.

Does anyone "optimize" their SSD?

Here's a few links:

How to CORRECTLY optimize your SSD for windows 7 - AnandTech Forums

Is it really beneficial? Last thing I want is crashes.

No, most of the 'optimization' techniques I have seen actually remove a lot of the dependencies on the SSD, where you would actually benefit from it. Windows knows when you are using an SSD, and generally chooses the right settings for it. Things like deleting temp files, etc, are a good idea though.

Edit: I read that post at Anandtech, and I agree with that guy Make sure AHCI is enabled, and make sure you have the latest drivers. That's it. There are some caveats particularly if you are on an X79 but for most people that's all you need to do.

I have an SSD in mine, it makes a huge difference

The Crucial will get really slow after a while without TRIM, but it will never be as slow as the default drive.

Swapped everything back into my CM Elite 430, so now there's a clear window on the side panel and my ugly rainbow PSU cables are a huge eye-sore. I definitely do not want to blow money on sleeving kits, and the case's cable management isn't too great to begin with. Are there any products that can wrap the cables up in say, a black sleeve without actual sleeving?

Something like that, or even some kind of velcro wrap of some sort if it even exists...

Ooooh. I just had another idea.

3M Carbon-Fiber Shrinkwrap. You can rice that PSU out!

Also, use the 3M wrap on the actual PSU box.

I wonder if bike handlebar tape would work

Ended up wrapping the main mobo power cable in electrical tape
