Bitfenix' certainly looks nice no experience with them though but i've heard/seen a lot of love for that itx case of theirs
(ghost is on sale at ncix now http://www.ncix.com/products/?sku=73...x&promoid=1065)

I recently got a Fractal HTPC case and was quite impressed, I contacted customer care too to ask a question and was extremely impressed by the customer service so if it were me i'd go Fractal

any idea why when i press the reset button on my case my fans go to max power and stay that way after rebooting (doesn't happen when i just tell windows to restart) and it'll stay that way until i shutdown the computer (another reboot doesnt change things)

Thinking of setting up Intel RST with an old 64GB SSD drive that I have.

My HDD/SSDs are:
1x 240GB Intel 330 SSD (os/apps)
1x 500GB HDD (games)
1x 64GB (cache SSD)

Would I just need to set up my 500GB and 64GB in raid and then use the SRT software? I can leave my other SSD as is since it won't really benefit from the caching anyways right?

I guess no one saw my post

Here it is again.

"I need some input/pointers for my Video/Photo editing machine. I most likely won't game on it.

Here's the list.

I have not decided on which video card I should get. Need help in that department. I thought about running an SSD for OS/Program and two WD Reds in RAID for storage. Then a WD Black for a scratch/misc data drive. I thought about using an SSD as a scratch but I'm not sure how well that will work(Reliability). Should I stick with the Asus Z87 MATX-Gryphon or the Asus Z87 MATX-Plus board?"

- (1X) Intel 4770k
- (1X) Asus Gryphon Z87 Board or Asus Z87m-Plus
- Corsair Vengeance Pro 32GBs (2X 16GB kits)
- (1X) Intel 520 series 120GB SSD (Boot/Programs)
- (2X) Western Digital 2TB RED in RAID (Storage)
- (1X) Western Digital Black 1TB (Scratch/output and Misc)
- (1X) Asus GeForce GTX 660OC 2GB Video Card (Still undecided)
- (1X) Corsair HX650 Power Supply
- (1X) Corsair 350D Micro-ATX Case
- (1X) Noctua NH-D14 or Be Quiet! Dark Rock Pro 2
- (1X) Windows 7 Pro
- (1X) Blu-Ray writer (Possibly/Maybe)

Thanks!

i'm not sure how much GPU power is needed for video editing but some editing programs will benefit from CUDA cores of nvidia cards rather than AMD

Agree, but since the motherboard I want to buy hasn't realized in HK (Asrock Z87M OC Formula), just curious if it will be fixed when it launches.

does anyone know how much does it cost to build an alright gaming setup with SSD??

I need a SSD that isn't tiny in terms of storage space

games is cs go and dota 2, also need it streamed via line as well...

back then, it costed like 1000$ for a good computer with no SSD (the i5 3500k / ati 5870 era)

did teh price of computer parts drop since then? I haven't been keeping up with computer technology recently..

I'm sure a $750 budget is doable for cs and dota
post the res you play at...APU is good enough for those games

what is APU?? new term I have never heard of... new technology im guessing?

I have a BenQ 24 inch monitor that is 120 hz

BenQ XL2410T 23.6IN Widescreen 120HZ LCD Monitor LED 1920X1080 2MS DVI HDMI HAS Pivot 3D Vision

will a 750$ budget include a SSD? I have tried it at a friends house and was AMAZED (literally) on how fast his operating system/games boot up so quickly! My fastest Hard Drive I have owned is a WD640 Black. This was 3-4 years ago i am guessing??? It was 50$ back then since it was so competitive with seagate and the whole "seagate filmware" bricking almost all the HD's out there in the consumer market, Western Digital was the shit back in the days. Who is the SSD / HD bad boys on the block now?? I also heard that the price of HD / SSD has gone up due to recent floods in asia.

Sorry for going off topic lol

just googled APU, basically it is intergrated graphics?? (not sure if i am right) Did technology excel in terms of performance over the past 4 years that games these days do not require a video card?

just wanted to note that it is counter strike global offensive, not cs 1.6 which is 10 years old, and dota 2 not dota 1

APU is AMD's new chip that includes the graphic power of the radeon gpu combined with the CPU... This is ok for a budget pc.. but the power you get from a discrete card and better cpu will still be better... but for the price, it cant be beat...

Currently accumulating my parts for my first build. How hard is it to build everything from scratch when you've never done it before?

Unless you are building a high end SLI system and over clocking, any 500-600w PSU is good enough

picked up a Fractal R4 for 80$ taxes in. I'd consider that steal!

anyone know where to get individual sleeved PSU extension cables? I'd prefer a set and relatively cheap. Something similar to this http://www.memoryexpress.com/Products/MX39251. Most of them crazy over priced for a single cable.

Looks like Intel will start shipping C2 chips on July 15th, 2013 with mass availability predicted by the 2nd week of August.

If you care still
