i get more shit done on ipad and android combo... your point?
seriously aside from push email/bis....consumer berry usage has lost it. I am not more productive using the above combo than berry+android back in the rogers day for me.
A berry hooked up to an enterprise server is where the phone seems to shine for business. outside of that, not much
A phone should just be that.. a phone, with the option of browsing. I can see how the iphone and other devices can be attractive to students and young adults, but what adult has time to really play games on their phone all day while spending hours browsing/using different apps and games? Maybe some people do, but for me, if I wanted to game, I would use my xbox.. if I wanted to do extensive browsing, I would use something bigger than a 5 inch screen.
For my lifestyle, the blackberry is perfect, and I love a physical keyboard.
It is amazing how so many people revolve their life around a phone. Case in point, those nerdbags lining up for the new iphone 4s and previous generation iphones.. I wanted it to rain so bad last night on those losers.
^ I could not have said it any better. Take a bow, sir.
Who gives a shit about games? If I need to do banking, I do it at home on my computer or I go into a bank. Do I really need GPS capabilities in my home town? I could go on. Posted via RS Mobile

This has already been addressed....people have emphasized differences in needs and have excluded "games" and "apps" from the conversation but you guys keep going back to it!
You're creating a set of guidelines that apply to yourself only and they certainly can't be accepted as general. You're saying if you wanted to browse the internet you would need at least a 5" screen. These are just excuses...Who the hell wouldn't want MORE from a device, whether or not they use it! "I don't need xxxx" You really don't NEED anything...You don't even NEED a cell phone...There are landlines and pay phones everywhere but we CHOSE to have it out of ease and convenience. No one is arguing that it is NECESSARY to have a feature or a particular phone...They are arguing that it is BETTER to have it. And of course it is. There was a point when bluetooth wasn't a standard and it was an option on some phones. Would you rather have a phone without the option of handsfree or with handsfree...Of course you'd want the OPTION there in case you wanted a more versatile option...The more the better (in this case.)

Again, your needs do not tailor to everyone else's needs. If you have less you cannot chose to add more, however if you have more, you can chose not to use all the features...It's simple. The best way to tailor everyone's needs is by providing more features. In order for them to do that, they need to provide hardware that supports those features. It's a business, they need consumers to want their products, and that's how it's going to thrive. Not of people like you who think to themselves "well if I wanted to know what the phone number for a business would, I would open up my Yellow Pages at home."

I keep addressing it because an iphone or android fanboy keeps posting the odd comment on here.. Honestly, why are people other than bb users even viewing this thread? I don't go on the iphone thread and start sabotaging it. Also, if the iphone and andriods offer so much, why are people still buying blackberrys? It isn't an "excuse" for me, because I am "stuck" with my berry. I had the option of getting any phone out there when I signed up with Rogers last week, and I decided to go with BB again. I have never used bluetooth ever, and there are things I could care less about when looking at a phone. I won't get something just because the "option" is there. If your theory was true that everyone does get things because there are free options, then EVERYONE would have an iphone, but they don't You may be the type that goes for the BOGO extra value meal even if it is only yourself eating it, but for me, I only get what I can eat.
BB obviously caters to the business side of things. You can't really compare the two. yes they are both phones but it is like comparing Nike to Steve Vans. If anything, Android and the Iphone would be true competitors for the same type of consumers. How is the Iphone even doing in other parts of the world other than North America??
BB isn't stupid, and I am sure they are always thinking of ways to improve, without losing touch with what got them there in the first place. They aren't there to cater to teens and tweens and people that want to waste half their day playing angry birds. the partial reason for going with BB for me, is because I hate Apple and especially the Iphone, mainly because of how they run business. But I won't go into that. I am sure there are a lot of people in my shoes that will go BB just because they want to support a company that is in direct competition with Apple.
Actually iPhone is doing exceptionally well in other part of the world. Actually all around te world. How is blackbery doing outside of north America? :troll Posted via RS Mobile

There you go again...STOP being defensive...it's not an ATTACK and if it were, it has nothing to do with you, it's in reference to a material object!
I made this thread...I use Blackberry, I use Android and I use iOS...I can post in here, and so can ANYONE else with an opinion or something to say.
Also, did you even read this thread or just jump in whenever you want? This thread was created to talk about RIM and their future plans to integrate BBM to Android...WHY wouldn't Android ppl chime in? Keep in mind, everyone posting in this thread was talking productively and making unbiased, logical comments until jackass came in and decided to go emo:

And my phone does what I want it to do. Be a phone. My productivity went up 10 fold. Less time with the phone in my hands is perfect for me.
Majin as always, is the only one of the "Blackberry guys" here that is actually making a reasonable argument. You hit it right on...You're not offended and you feel that your phone is perfect for you...No one can argue against that and no one can tell you that you're wrong. It's your opinion and ONLY YOU will know what is good for you and what isn't. Perfectly reasonable.
anyways... BlueG2 made a good point
THE CONSUMER CREATES THE SET OF NEEDS HE OR SHE WANTS IN A CELL PHONE
I was in consumer sales, it may always say that we have to find the needs, well, when you find the needs, the customer is creating the needs.

common theme with you eh? like how i highlighted the ignorance?
honestly, its cool that you dont expect much from the things that you buy with your money. thats just how you are, thats awesome. but those "things" work for ME and boy do i ever love being able to randomly watch some HD porn on my iPhone. (didn't say that i jerk it to a 3.5" screen, thats what the 50" tv is for)
i own a blackberry by the way, so i am not biased. ive been using one on and off since about 2006. then when the iphone came out in 07, i bought it, but jumped back to the berry because the iphone lacked some of the most basic features. i've honestly owned one of every iphone model made to date with the exception of the iphone 4(nothing about it appealed to me other then the screen). this 4s with siri is just amazing. talking to it and just telling it to do something seems so much more natural then having to type out or use menu's to do something on the phone.
time's are a changing my friend and people want the latest and the greatest. honestly, RIM is just not keeping up at all. they have a webkit browser, but its still fucking balls. it just plain does not work more than half the time and quite frankly its just fucking plain dumb on RIM's part for not keeping up with the game.
lets be real here. if your berry didn't have bbm on it, would you even buy one? i think not because i know that i wouldnt...
cliff's : iphone = mini computer in my pocket i can use to randomly look at boobies when the gf isnt around for some fun.
blackberry= over glorified texting device that sometimes works.
oh and grammar nazi's, its 3:40am, i really dont care about pointless mistakes right now. me's is tired.

I am not being defensive. I never once said BB was bette than any other device. I always just stated that FOR ME, a BB is everything I need in a phone and is what I am happy with. I don't think I ever bashed the other companies and said they were garbage because it is all in opinion. I can't argue that the Iphone and Android phones are very successful, because they are.

So you highlighted all the I's and my's in my post, what is your point? What did you want me to say? "we", "us", "our". I was stating MY opinion, not anyone elses as a whole or a group.
And no, I don't use BB for the BBM. most of my friends actually have an Iphone. I use it for the simplicity and the keyboard, and the emails. If you read my previous posts, you would know why I have stuck to the BB.. Did you not read that whole post you quoted and highlighted?
It's great that you like to jerk off to porn off a 5 inch screen in your office, car, and park. That is nice to know.
I like how you turn everything you read into something else, and into your own version. I don't buy things not expecting anything. With the Iphone you are not getting "extras". Look at the price of BB's and the price of Iphones. They aren't even close. So you actually ARE paying for the "extras" you are getting with the Iphone.
