Blackberry Colt?

Anyone hear about it? Planning to grab a 9900 but was told there was a new BB coming soon.

supposedly a 4.1" touch screen phone.....

go buy the 9900

"rumors" from a few friends working at RIM.

First QNX "flagship" model in 2012 Q2 will be a full touchscreen. Second model will be similar to 9900.

Suprised your friends tell you that much. My friend refuses to say a word about even software development without the fear of getting fired.

If you want a touchscreen, you might as well go buy an Android.

The 9900 is a pretty solid phone. If I were you, I would buy it.

Don't know about the BB Colt, but there's a new 97xx coming out, I think its designated as the 9790, 9900 specs in a 9700 body.

Also like illicit said, the new QNX phone in Q2, although I read it was Q3.

It's unfortunate that it's not that great of a device once you read into it.

A lot of users experience low operating times/battery life even though BB is known to have phenomenal battery life. Reason? Yes there were a few batches of defective batteries when they first released the 9900s but the actual cause is due to the fact they increased the phone's resource usage (touchscreen, faster processor etc) while reducing the battery capacity. (~1100 maH iirc).

Yeah, it will be a 9700/9780 body style with a touchscreen. Code named " Bellagio "

And RIM is expecting a 2012 Q2 release, but like any other company, it will usually be delayed so maybe that's why you read 2012 Q3 release.

"COLT" is a 9900 with touchscreen supposedly.

4.2" screen (wasn't sure, it might have been 4.3")
1280x720 HD screen
Dual Core 1.5ghz processor

New 93xx line, supposed to be similar to Torch but the "lower/consumer" line similar to Curve.

Code named 9380 "Orlando"

I have a Bold 9900 and I'm aware of the shortcomings when it comes to battery life. However I needed a new phone, so I bit the bullet.

What were my options?
- iPhone? Not an Apple guy; no thanks.
- A nice Droid like the S2? Possibly, but battery life would be the same or worse.

The battery got better with the newest update from Wind. Right now I'm on 7.0.0.439 and one charge has lasted me 2 full days with medium usage for the past 4 days I've had it. Update it and see how it is. It'll last more than a day on heavy messaging use for sure.
