I completely agree, I screwed up big time. Funny thing is, I remember doing the cluster check when I drove it the first time, and seeing that the airbag light was there.

Going over some pictures I took, it looks like the light may have come on after I test drove it but before I picked it up. Previous owner might have seen it and taped over it so I wouldn't notice it easily when I went to pick up the car after work. Classy.

Took it to Werner's on recommendation, and that guy looks to be decent. At least he didn't charge me for not fixing the issue (communicating with the car). He wants to keep it for a day to trace some wires, take out the passenger seat and look for blown fuses below the carpeting.

Nice guys, seems to know and like what he does. We'll see what happens.

@RSXBoii:

That's somewhat what I will be aiming for, although still wondering on angel eyes or not. And those wheels are ugly. Will be putting M-Parallels in the spring, assuming the car's computer isn't toast or something terrible like that.

Yeah, saw that one. He was driving a nice older M3 today. Hopefully either him, or some people on BimmerForums that offered to help, can figure out the electronic mystery of the car.

That sucks. If any wires were cut to the ECU, the previous owner was an absolute douche bag and a half.

I have a Peake scanner in case you ever need a code pulled. I don't have the Air bag/SRS reset scanner though.

Just an update, Werner was not able to diagnose the car. I might have to bite the bullet and go to the dealership, but I guess I'll have to start tracing wires.

When the diag tool is connected to the underhood port there is no communication.

Ive got 04 745i and i love mine. Congrats on the purchase

12.9l/100km on v8, luxury vehicle ! you cant go wrong with 7 series; Ive driven 3 5 and 6 series and you can not compare luxury and comfort to 7 series.

I use BMW dealer for most repairs ( auto west in richmond ) i always get 15% off labor because I just ask for discount.

if your bmw is 7 years or older, u are entitled to discounted service. I sure hope u are getting 15% off on top of this program. If not that 15% off is nothing compared to what u should be getting.

25% off labor? Never knew that! Guess I know where I will be taking it in for further diagnosis if I can;t fix the communication issue!

Gigi at auto west service is fat as fuckkkkk

anyways i will never take my car to dealer for maintenance after warranty... last time i was quoted nearly $2000 for Inspection II, while it was $700 in an indy shop

can't remember whether it is advantage collision or advance collision.. its beside richmond Ikea, and the work is pretty nice and the owner is really chill... services lots of BMW, Merc's and Audi's.
