RE-negotiating a plan before upgrading/ or after?

I'm done with my 3 year contract couple months ago, and I reserved an iphone 4S to go along with another 3 year contract ( I haven't signed the contract yet). I'm just wondering if I should re negotiate before I pick up my iphone or if I can call in after I recieve my phone. I'm picking up from an authorized fido location. Thanks guys.:fullofwin:

You should do it before u get the phone, once you get the phone, ur locked for another 3 years so their offers may not be as good

Before for sure, if you tell them you want to switch carriers they'll give you a sweet retention plan

When my friend called Fido they told him to go to the Fido to pick up the phone at full price first then they will credit you back when you call them.

Definitely before. You have much less negotiating power after.

someone mentioned to me that you can use the amount of fido dollars you have as a bargaining chip when talking with other carriers. not sure how they would verify this but certainly an interesting method.

Hmm, never knew fido dollars would work with bargaining..maybe only with the Fido. - but other carriers? Not sure how to relate fidodollars to Rogers/Bell etc
