When Life Imitates Art Imitating Life: The Scott Hall Story

ESPN E60 is a wonderful show documenting powerful stories from around the sports world

such stories involve OJ Simpson, Michael Jordan to Vancouver's own Green Men

I've been a wrestling fan for a long time. It's sad to see this happen to such a storied career for Hall, but this is life. Whatever went wrong in between, he's dealing with it. What the intro said is true, his story is almost like the movie "The Wrestler"

I used to watch wrestling when I was young, not anymore though.
It's a sad story, his life =(

Happy 10-19-2011 08:42 PM

damn.. sucks to see him like that

growing up, scott hall / razor ramon and hulk hogan were my heroes

nWo forever

Jer3 10-19-2011 08:45 PM

i'm surprised scott hall isn't dead yet. he's been battling alcoholism and drugs for awhile now hasn't he? i remember watching a lot of videos before on youtube with kevin nash, x-pac and a few other of his old friends trying to get his life straightened out

shawn79 10-19-2011 08:45 PM

"The Wrestler" was based on the life of Lex Luger apparently.

Razor Ramon HG 10-20-2011 01:05 AM

Razor Ramon is my favourite wrestler of all time.

Ludepower 10-20-2011 01:18 AM

Great short doc.
I watched Razor when he first entered the WWF...his ladder matches with Shawn Michaels were classics.

hotshot1 10-20-2011 02:55 AM

Wow, I watched him on tv as Razor... this is so sad.

7seven 10-20-2011 07:07 AM

Without a doubt, E60 is one of the best television programs on tv

hotjoint 10-20-2011 07:40 AM

That's pretty sad. Going from being a superstar to nothing but everyone in the wrestling business has access to the same things. It's up to the person to make the decision to go that route or take another one. He was definitely one of my favorite wrestlers of the time. The original NWO with hollywood, hall, and nash was the best thing in wrestling imo.

RacePace 10-20-2011 07:40 AM

A lot of other kids used to do the toothpick flick when I was younger lol

drunkrussian 10-20-2011 07:41 AM

was a huge fan of his, razor ramone may have been my favorite wrestler along with lex luger. sad that both had some shitty lives...90's wrestlers - u really had to love it. or be out of options to do it...super fucked up conditions

the 90's and early 2000's was the best era in wrestling, both WCW and WWF were baus

its sad to see the PG-13 crap we have today

spoon.ek9 10-20-2011 10:46 AM

i wish him nothing but the best. him mentoring his son may just be the thing that saves his life and his legacy.

his legacy is tarnished in my books
Same for the likes of Flair, Hogan, Kevin Nash

Kevin Nash was scheduled to a match with CM PUNK in september, but he didnt pass his physicals. When he was in the ring, he looked slow, and out of touch with the program(albeit, this CM PUNK guy is genius on the mic..)

Flair and Hogan are just so bloody fucking old they should just step out of the ring.

Ric Flair has battled the same demons that Scott Hall did, although not to that degree

Hogan, well... I honestly think the public eye on him and his family got to him. Though him and Kevin Nash are probably the most healthy ones out of the 4 guys i mentioned

Go google clips from this past weekend from the TNA ppv, Hogan vs Sting.. was garbage

I thought Flair was going to retire back when they had him on WWE, then seeing him on TNA, it is such a joke.
I understand the marketing aspect and why WWE and TNA would bring back these old timers, but at the same time all the years of being a wrestler has done havoc on most of them.
I loved Brett Hart, but seeing him on WWE now is a joke. Same thing with Hogan. They are much slower than before and because of it, just like Hall in that video, make wrestling look faker than ever.

I started watching wrestiling back in the early 80's, when it was still Maple Leaf Wrestling, Stampede Wrestling and the AMA. The '90's were definately the best years. I remember every time we'd go to Calgary I'd beg my parents to drive past the Hart house with all the rusty old rings outside. Now it's not even worth it to watch.

Beyond The Mat is another good watch for those interested in what goes on in the wrestling business - both with up and comers and has-beens.

Well that didn't last long

WRESTLING LEGEND SCOTT HALL
Tragic Twist After
Documentary's Happy Ending

WWE legend Scott Hall's emotional reunion with his estranged son at the end of ESPN's documentary about the wrestler was short-lived -- sources tell TMZ, Scott's drug problems have once again forced the two apart.

In case you missed it, ESPN aired a heartfelt documentary about Scott Hall last night -- chronicling the wrestler's drug-fueled fall from grace -- in which Scott and his son Cody poignantly reunited after not speaking for years.

The documentary ended on a promising note (below) -- with the father-son duo working together to launch Cody's wrestling career.

But Scott's ex-wife Dana tells TMZ, the reunion in May barely lasted a month -- and once again, the two are no longer on speaking terms.

We're told Cody gave up on his dad due to "constant verbal abuse from Scott while he was binging" -- and he soon moved back home with his mom.

Dana tells us, Cody simply felt it was "too hard seeing his dad in that kind of state." We're told Cody has no current plans to continue wrestling. Scott's rep had no comment.

WWE is about to get better in the build for Rock's return at Survivor Series. Mick Foley is coming back too.. Both these guys are immune to the HORRENDOUS SHITTY writing and Vince McMahon's stupid ideas, so any shows built around them should be good.
