why all the hate for hyundai? the dude bought his car (troll or not) and he is happy with it. who are you to say otherwise.
why on earth anyone would say a 370 doesn't excite him/her... i do not know.. but i can understand why someone would feel the genesis better suit them than the 370z. or the sti for that matter. you keep trying to talk shit about hyundai.. makes me wonder why?
Genesis is a good car. Affordable, rwd, 6mt, turbo, available options like brembos and an lsd. 370z is a better car overall though but those knocking the hyundai give really shallow reasons.

It makes me wonder why you guys are comparing Hyundai to Supra, WRX STi and 370Z
WRX STi = proper WRC racer, has decades of racing heritage and history competing with all the WRC rivals.
370Z = Unlike Hyundai Tiburon, the Nissan Z car has always been a sportscar, right from the beginning of its history. Not like "sporty car" like Tiburon if you know the difference. Also the Z car has tons of racing history, Daytona, IMSA, Super GT, etc...Hyundai can't even come close.
Supra = Proven to be bullet proof sportscar. People tend to compare the Supra with Lamborghini, Ferrari, Porsche, Corvette, Viper, etc...because the 2JZ engine can handle so much power. Have you ever seen people comparing Viper and Corvette to Hyundai? I don't think so. Also the Supra has raced in Super GT, JGTC, etc.
I don't know why some of you are trying so hard to defend Hyundai.
I'm not surprised at all how a lot of people here hate Hyundai...people who post on car forums(not limited to RS) are typically motorsport/sportscar enthusiasts.
When you think of Hyundai...not many people would think about motorsports...maybe Hyundai has done something??? but definitely didn't do good job nor will they care about it.
We are comparing Subaru(STi), Nissan(370Z) and Toyota(Supra) here...
Here are some examples of those companies and Hyundai has little to no heritage if you compare them.
When you think of Hyundai, it never reminds you of motorsport excitement..
i don't see what F1 has to do with anything. but uhhh okay
and here. it's not F1, but it's something:
i'm not defending anything, mind you. but don't be so quick to judge a car that, aside from the spec sheet, you know nothing about
and if anybody intends to say "there's nothing more to know aside from the spec sheet", then you've shown how much you really know about cars and being an enthusiast
i don't see what F1 has to do with anything. but uhhh okay
I think it does...if a car manufacture can enter F1, it shows that they do actually care about motorsport + they have enough technology + funding and all the other stuff to do it...
and shows that they have actually competed with Ferrari and other Formula 1 teams.
I think that's why I like Ford better than GM and Chrysler...because thay have entered F1 and also beat Ferrari with GT40 and stuff.
What I'm trying to say is, entering high end motorsport will give the company "cool factor" do you agree?
It's bone stock but the intake... Got a front bumPer I wanna throw in a few other mods but I'll wait till I get 100k on it first :P Posted via RS Mobile
That Rhys Millen V8 Genesis wasn't really a race car...from what I understand, it's just a show car...
Didn't he build 4 rotor RX-7 as well?
uhhh no, it's not just a show car, it's a drift built car. he races in events like formula D, pikes peak and the redline TA series. he also holds the pikes peak TA record in the RWD class in his genesis

i do agree, definitely. but with the sportiest car they've put out in the past being the tiburon, i don't see how they could even envision competing in formula 1. in the past it seems they've been more focused towards the usability crowd with hatchbacks and sedans like the sonata and accent
i'm in no way a hyundai fanboy, i do like the genesis sedan and the genesis coupe though. i've said this in the past and i'll say it again, the make of the car is secondary as long as the car itself is good. i've taken my car to pacific raceway once and though it wasn't the fastest (nowhere close i'll admit with my engine being only minorly modded), it handled like a charm. unless you have actually been behind the wheel of a hyundai of today, then i don't think you have any right to criticize the entire brand itself. a year ago if you had told me i'd own a hyundai, i would've been , but after purchasing my car i have had 0 regrets. the car catches attention everywhere it goes, and even in bone stock form i got a lot of positive comments on it, even if it's just on the appearance of the car. i looked around at all options in my price range, including sedans like the accord and TSX, more luxury suited cars like a 3 series and lexus IS, and sportier cars like a 370z and evo X GSR. all of those cars are in the same price range, give or take $2-3k, with the exception of the 370z, but in looking for the best bang for the buck, the genesis took the win hands down. to each his own, but i'll say again, if you have tried it and hated it, then you have every right to criticize, but until then, it doesn't seem like you have any right to
i'll end my post off with this
and to everybody else: let's just agree to disagree
