rogers non promotion plan vs promotion plans ive talked to a rogers representative at the mall and they said if its non promotion i do not have to renew my contract. but when i called them they said that i do have to renew my contract. so which is right? do i need to renew my contract or not? as i wanna change my plan cause i think i am paying to much. |
If you're not getting a phone, you shouldn't have to re-up for any term. You should be able to go month-to-month. The only time you have to go into a contract should be when you're getting a phone from them as part of the deal. ie: $49 or 99 for the iphone4, etc. under 3 year term. If you already have a phone, or buy the phone outright... for say... $499 or $599 or whatever the cost of the phone you're looking at, they can't make you enter a contract. |
they say i have to renew cause i have data already. and the new plan also has data |

There's nothing saying you have to enter a contract as you can add data month-to-month manually. Go to a store and talk to them. Basically, they'll BS you and tell you that you have to do such and such just so they can get their comission/activation fee bonus for signing you onto a contract. Non-promotional contracts are their regular contracts and there is nothing saying you have to "enter" that contract. You can sign on for no term. Telus and Bell both state this on their webpages, as well. They just won't subsidize the cost of the phone if you don't enter a 1, 2 or 3 year contract. |
some of the sales that work at the stores are idiots. just call in 611 and they'll help you. |
