Anyone know if it's possible if I could bring my phone to hong kong which is on prepaid(fido), and be able to use it there? I've heard I needed to 'crack' my phone or something to be able to use it overseas.

You need to "unlock" your phone. Right now, your phone should be locked to your carrier (Fido), and in order for you to use other carriers when you're in HK, you'll need an unlocked phone.

What phone are you using right now?

My AFC gave me an ABS CEL code of LOL while at WOT!

You're better off buying a new cellphone while you're in Hong Kong.

also note that 3G will not work in Hong Kong unless you have AWS band phone (I think one of the bands overlap)
