Typical, accident always happens on that street. In that very same manner. Everyone bombs down the hill and tries to beat the light and the left turner gets screwed.. See it more than once a month.

This is why I always wait until the cars going straight actually STOP before I turn

Ferrari driver said the light was red, pick-up driver said it was yellow..I was at the intersection at a red light, so not sure if the video will show what colour it was...hopefully can see if the crosswalk marker was blinking or not.

I fuck'n hate assholes who try to beat yellow lights. Accidents like these are so easily avoided. I hope the dumb jackass truck driver gets penalized and sued.

just got off the phone with the Ferrari guy, cops gave him a ticket saying that it is his responsibility to be clear of the intersection regardless of oncoming traffic..which I dont understand at all. He said a bimmer ran the yellow forcing him to be caught in the intersection, once the bimmer had passed he started to go (light had already turned red) then the pickup ran the solid red. He confirmed car is a write-off :(

The truck driver always has the right of way unless it can be proven that he ran a RED light.
Just be patient and wait until oncoming traffic has stopped before your turn. Like you said, accidents like these are so easily avoided.

Hey, I was in a similar accident where I was turning left, and a car ran a red light and hit me, I was found at fault. Police came to give me a ticket and ICBC ruled against me because it was my fault. The system is fucked and they put ALL the onus on the left-hand turner, but even if the left hand turner does NOTHING wrong and didn't cause the accident, they are STILL automatically at fault. But if you fight it you can win.

I fought it and won.
