Heading to California for a 3-4 day trip, but haven't decided which city exactly to settle on. What I'm looking for is some suggestions on which city to stay in (LA, Anaheim, etc), and what good attractions that city has.

It's been a long time since I've been down there, so I'm really out of touch on all the latest and greatest places. I know about Universal Studios, Disneyland, Knotts, etc. What I'm looking for is maybe something not advertised often, but is on par, or better than those places. Whether it be indoor go-karting, rock climbing, etc - just anything any of you guys checked out or heard and thought was cool.
