This trip was one of the most amazing weekends of my entire life.
I was especially looking forward to it because this last year was one of the worst years of my life. I had absolutely no time to party or hang out. I was just busting my ass in grad school.
For me...
We stayed at the Vdara. This was amazing because there was no casino there. So the place was cleaner (no smoke) and not as busy/loud all the time. Just young people (mostly edc crowd) happy and ready to party. I liked that a lot compared to the other hotels with casino's.
We went to Marquee for a pool party with Mat Zo and Above and Beyond.
This was so fcuking amazing. If you have never been to a pool party I feel sorry for you. It's one of those things where you can't even put to words how awesome it is. The atmosphere, the people, the music, the energy. Fcuking unbelievable. It is super draining though. The sun and the booze really takes the energy out of you. So to do EDC the same night was a little rough. But, still doable. It is Vegas after all.
EDC itself was spectacular to say the least. When you sit back and think about the shear amount of attractions, shows, lights, people, stands, installments, etc. It was fcuking ridiculous.
They had these giant flame throwers that when you press the button they just launch fire in the sky and you get so warm. They had three. At first we were like WTF is this shit. It's so random and useless, besides it was warm already why would anyone want to be blasted with so much heat? Then after a night of going hard and your body is beat to shit, sitting underneath this thing was so energizing. You could literally feel the heat refueling your body, it was a wicked experience.
I agree, the main stage (kinetic field) sound was weak. It was still good, but not as good as ASOT stage (circuit grounds). We were pretty much at the front for the main stage, the middle, and the back over the weekend so we got to experience the sound at pretty much all distances and a lot of us noticed that the sound wasn't as good as ASOT stage. ASOT stage sound was some of the clearest, crispiest, and cleanest sound I have ever heard.
The girls at EDC.. HOLY HELL. The costumes, the people, the atmosphere, and everything was just amazing. Thinking back on everything you can really put into perspective how fcuking amazing EDC was. I think when you're there you are so overwhelmed with it all.
The only regret I have is not exploring the grounds more. There were so many attractions I wish I saw. I definitely want to go again next year. It was an amazing trip.

Haha well to "most", KineticField (Stage A) is still the main stage, it was packed in there and more headliners (Avicii, and well Tiesto was supposed to play there) but yeah the bass was definitely weaker, the sound dispersed too quickly to really impact you.

PornMaster you got it all mixed up lol ... Stage C IS the CircuitGrounds (yes with the arches) ... but no, KineticField was PACKED! Compared to KF, CG had less people. I actually had space to pull off some of my embarrassing dance "moves" rather then being packed in like canned tuna and only able to shake my arm in the air from my brief time at KF lol!

You hit the nail on the head for this one buddy! I was already reluctant to go this year ... but after this year ... I am already looking forward to next year!
It was also my first time ever at a pool party and it was AWESOME, outdoor partying in the warm sun, drinking away, and listening to sweet music ... I might not go to another pool party BETWEEN EDC days though because it just kills my body lol ... next year I'll probably go before and after EDC ... Monday's pool party at Encore with Afrojack & Guetta was crazy! There was less people than usual (still 90% full, not 150% full like every other club in Vegas) so we could get pretty close to the DJ booth and still enjoy the good vibes, it was amazing!
Anyone pro graphic designer here can help us design something identical and get it print at a t shirt shop for under $10? This shirt is freaking sick but i dont want to pay $30 for something so simple... i know y'all want this.
Here is a video I took entering through the main gate.
This was the only day we entered through this way since we had to pick up our will call tickets.
It was pretty insane walking into something like this
circuitGROUNDS was the best stage imo. especially in vip, where there was space to move about and a great view of the fireworks.
everyone was so nice and girls were down to dance and some were open to hugs/kisses
Saturday was just hilarious watching people freeze, while me and my bro were just walking around like, "this is still warmer than Vancouver" haha
obsideon and mx703...nice write ups! A once and a lifetime experience.
But the question is would I do it again? I would say it'll be largely dependent if you have a large circle of friends wanting to go again..and so far a lot of mine are saying no.
Travel to and from EDC was a nightmare and cost were a deterring factor. $15 for a beer or 40 dollar dinners...plus paying 5k for bottle service was insane.
My fault for not spending wisely but god dayum everything was hella expensive and added up pretty quickly. Also locating good candy was a problem. Ow yea...the Saturday cancellation (in which they had no control...I know) kinda sealed the deal.
Dont get me wrong it was a spectacle once you're finally in....don't regret going but wouldn't do it again considering other places I could of traveled with my money. EDC was a been there...done that experience.
