Here is a video I took entering through the main gate.
This was the only day we entered through this way since we had to pick up our will call tickets.
It was pretty insane walking into something like this
it must feel so awesome knowing you're walking into a party zone like that
Dude when you walk in for the very first time you hear the music and as the sound gets louder you start getting the pump and when you finally see the first stage and the huge amounts of people everywhere from a distance all you can think in your head is "holy.. Fuck.. This is the fucking shit!"

obsideon and mx703...nice write ups! A once and a lifetime experience.
But the question is would I do it again? I would say it'll be largely dependent if you have a large circle of friends wanting to go again..and so far a lot of mine are saying no.
Travel to and from EDC was a nightmare and cost were a deterring factor. $15 for a beer or 40 dollar dinners...plus paying 5k for bottle service was insane.
My fault for not spending wisely but god dayum everything was hella expensive and added up pretty quickly. Also locating good candy was a problem. Ow yea...the Saturday cancellation (in which they had no control...I know) kinda sealed the deal.
Dont get me wrong it was a spectacle once you're finally in....don't regret going but wouldn't do it again considering other places I could of traveled with my money. EDC was a been there...done that experience.
Thanks, you are absolutely correct in your assessment of determining whether or not you want to go again next year, personally for me; I have a pretty high possibility of going again mainly due to a couple reasons:
1) I missed the first day and the 2nd day was cut short, but the 3rd day was EPIC. I want to try this again for all 3 days, plus staying in Vegas in itself is quite enjoyable, eating the buffets, watching some shows, shopping, soaking in the heat, gambling. Oh did I mention the Pool Parties were INSANE?! It was my first experience... and definitely won't be my last!
2) Quite a few of my friends missed out on it this year and they are pretty much 95% in for next year (especially after I told them how wicked it was), so that will be a major factor in my decision for EDC 2013.
3) The learning experience from going there my first day (Saturday) compared to going the 2nd day (Sunday) was a night and day difference. Just figuring out the best times to go to avoid traffic and exactly where to pick up the tickets, how the lines work, etc ... will make everything that much more smooth next year which is a bonus, no more wasting precious party time randomly looking for shit.

LOL exactly!... I got off the plane in my shorts and sandels ... to find Vancouver pissing rain and cold ... as usual ... so depressing lol and it's been like this since I got back ...
Do you guys like the guy on the mic? It annoys the shit outta me if it's not the DJ and even if it is, he talks way too much. Let the music speak for itself.
He was like that ALL THREE DAYS. A bit is ok, but this guy (mc villain) talks waaayy too much.
When headhunterz played "builder- her voice" he even goes da da da da dada da.
Now I know how annoying I am when I do that . At least I dont have a mic
I know it's not a big deal but I was pretty stoked when Shogun showed up during Skyfire!... that is crazy! I've met him a couple times when he came to Ebisu to eat, nice guy. I was cheering for him when he came out!... I think it was during Dash's set?... so epic
Ye, It was dash's set. Dash played man on the skyfire and they both jumped up on the table.
I thought I saw him after I left cosmic gate's pool party at tao on Sat, but wasnt sure. Just an asian with shades, a sleeve and a hat. My friend said it wasn't him though. I was staring at him, and he was staring back at me.
I was sad that there was no showtek too
