What the fuck do I do

Im at a loss for words right now. I was driving back from Cineplex Odeon Meadowtown in pitt meadows on lougheed towards coquitlam and suddenly I feel like my front lip flys off. i was driving on a flat straight part. my friend is driving near me and says holy shit through his window and i go park and half my bumper came off along with my front lip and one fog light....its fucked up. I was so rattled. this was like 20 minutes ago FYI.

I got my headlights installed at Evolution Auto Performance along with the lip and fog lights. You need to take off the bumper to install the headlights so yeahh....

im not sure what the fuck to do. any help would be appreciated

talk to evo auto cus obviously they fucked up and didn't tighten something correctly...sorry to hear man, where you able to grab the stuff back at all when you felt it "fly off" or no chance?

El Bastardo 11-10-2011 11:29 PM

Was there road debris? How did your lip suddenly disintegrate? Did you hit VTAK and the lip shattered?

i thought it was just my license plate or front lip to be honest haha and I didnt even notice it at first.... then I looked in my rear view mirror after like 3 seconds of shock and saw sparks and im like WTF but I was going at a steady speed of like 75KM/H and theres no where to just pull over there really.

i agree with you...so much involved with this. Fog lights, front bumper, a-spec front lip...jesus

How long ago has it been since Evolution Auto Performance installed it?

Looking at your picture I don't even understand how it just fell off like that... :fulloffuck:

i doubt they would be any type of warranty, one reason being hte amount of time that that has already past. Many variables of what "you couldve" done to the car. In the shop position's you could hit road debris or encountered a dip that ate a chunk of ur front end off.

i had a black rsx before, brings back memories.

I may not be a bumper engineer, but i don't see how someone incorrectly installing parts 2 months ago would cause your bumper to break in half at speed ...

Neither do I...I am literally baffled when I go into the garage and look at it.

I think for sure vtec is to blame not the shop

SkinnyPupp 11-11-2011 12:38 AM

RSX bumper is the easiest thing to install, I've done it myself a few times, and that's saying something :fuckthatshit:

positive...clear highway almost no cars. headlights and fog lights on and looking straight ahead not even any music. i was really concentrated.

Sky_High 11-11-2011 12:56 AM

How low is your car...including the front lip?

LenovoTurbo 11-11-2011 12:58 AM

Guessing a portion of the bumper/lip touched the ground/wheel and ripped whatever attached to it. Go wiggle your bumper, is it loose?

Has that bumper been repaired before?

optiblue 11-11-2011 08:07 AM

My guess is that at speed, your lip probably produced downforce to the point a bolt/plastic bumper/tape failed, caught the wheel and got dragged. It definitely could have ripped up the rest of your bumper if the other parts were secure. Always use bolts and washers if you're doing a lip!

Where is your fender liner? or is there no fender liner for your RSX?
Tough break. Good luck on recuperating the costs.
