Nlkko 11-22-2011 01:50 PM

How I feel about tow truck and cab drivers: :fuckthatshit:

dhari 11-22-2011 02:01 PM

hope all is well bro! you will probly feel sore in the morning. good that you started a claim with ICBC. also get a lawyer, it makes things easier!

greendb7 11-22-2011 02:05 PM

Fuck
Surrey
drivers.

Glad you're ok.

dlo 11-22-2011 02:19 PM

you'll be covered for your bumper damage from the tow company, my friends dual exhaust was bent from busters and he filed a complaint and did paperworks with icbc and they paid to fix it, so i expect the same for you, yeah tow drivers are fucking stupid lol

s300ae 11-22-2011 02:47 PM

at this point, the bumper is the least of my worries...

if the car is to be rebuilt, it wont be cheap. my resale value will equal squat. good luck to them sourcing out parts that i had a hard time finding.
if its considered totalled... ive put in 10k that i will never get back. i have receipts on most things but just seems sad because it all goes to waste and cant really take it off the car.

GLOW 11-22-2011 03:03 PM

please tell me you gave that tow truck driver one of these after you video taped that

XplicitLuder 11-22-2011 06:34 PM

dam man im sorry to hear that! now you :( we can be bus buddies ? :alone:

yesterday at work i had the EXACT same thing happen to me while i was driving my manager back to work on e 1st ave just before nanaimo. the driver in the van didnt see me and switched last minute right INTO my lane where i was and i had to swerve onto oncoming lane to avoid him, i gave him the biggest honk ever.

I hope you're okay bud!

Pooface55 11-22-2011 06:41 PM

From the beginning of video the front is already messed, no? Did it matter if he damaged it some more since icbc was going to fix it anyway?

The front lip was just cracked and fixable. He drove the whole lip/bumper into my engine bay/rad and cracked all the clips that were left.
Now it's all in pieces. I guess you missed the part where the car is trying to tow a RWD car from the front. I had the keys with me and the e-brake was on.

no bus for me. i got a rental.

NLY 11-22-2011 07:17 PM

I can't imagine how you felt seeing that tow truck damage your car right like that. I had a friend tip my CBR over and my heart just sank.

Good job with the video capture to avoid any bullshit excuse the tow company might make to avoid paying for damages.

As far as the car being a rebuilt, i'm sure if you were to sell the vehicle on the forums there are tons of people to vouch for your car regardless.

the most important thing is health and coming out without any injuries.

jpark 11-22-2011 07:29 PM

fucken tow truck drivers

anyways... glad you're okay man, one of the cleanest is300 on revscene
at least you had your winter wheels on and not your sexy viennas :/

DiiCii 11-22-2011 09:09 PM

glad to know you're okay man! hope it's an easy fix as well! same thing happened to my mom and her altima. ended up both party's at fault :( even though mom was driving straight, no witnesses could prove it. good luck though man, lemme know if you need anything!

mb_ 11-22-2011 09:38 PM

Glad you're okay man. You can replace a car but you can't replace your health (did that even make sense?). Oh and that tow truck driver is definitely an idiot.

s300ae 11-23-2011 08:20 AM

Thanks for all the support and help guys

Sucks but at the same time we all know the risks of modding a car, and anyone who thinks they're gonna get any money back for their mods is a dreamer. Sorry but gotta be realistic man.

Driving by the scene every day to work. Keep reliving the whole incident. Still haven't heard from ICBC.

ICBC will sort things out given the solid evidence you provide.

Did you run a dashcam to get a video of the sideswipe? I am thinking about shelling out that $80 to get one now I see your videos.

From the stupid tow truck driver, it seems like it also damaged your fender and hood as well.

Hope everything goes well for your claim. Make sure ICBC replaces or pays you for the new winter tires!! Your Corvette wheels looks toast too. :(

take care man.
i wish icbc won't be an ass.

s300ae 11-24-2011 02:52 PM

I wish I had a dashcam. I'm thinking of buying one once I get a car.
I got a call from my body shop today but I missed the call. I got super excited because he said he'd call once they get the car. So I was under impression she servived until I checked the voicemail.
He was just calling to see if I had heard back from ICBC yet. Lol got my hopes up.

As far as I can tell, I'll need new passenger door, fender, hood? Bumper, lip, fog light, head light, front plate :troll:, exhaust tips (he lifted the front cause the rear to drag along the ground), and wheel/tire. Good luck to finding another set of 88 vet rims. Now that I think about it, I might need new axle, control arm, rotor, brakes, caliper, basically the whole steering assembly.
