So sorry to hear about this dude. At first I skipped over the thread thinking it wasn't one of the members here until I saw another one of your posts saying your car is gone....
Always admired your IS, definitely the nicest one I've seen locally

Best of luck with ICBC

XplicitLuder 11-27-2011 12:35 PM

sorry to hear bro..weird how i can say i know the feeling :alone:

if it's a rebuilt, prepare to get NOWHERE what you expected.. that devalues the car 40-50% already =/

I don't know with ICBC he might luck out. My friend bought a rebuilt civic for 8K years ago. It was stolen 3 months later and ICBC gave him 13 grand.

Damn...............=(

YaKuZa_GS 11-28-2011 09:13 AM

Damn Aleks! I'm so sorry to hear that bro. I'm glad you were injured and thank god for no oncoming vehicles. That could have been much worse or even lethal if that were the case. I wope everything works our for you in the end. And don't let ICBC try to fuck you over

! that blows dude. Car was very clean, sorry for your loss

TRDood 11-29-2011 12:42 AM

Doesn't look that bad (assuming nothing in the rear). I had a similar accident a year ago to my drivers side (little more worse) and it cost $6000 in repairs.

The suspension and steering assembly is wrecked.
It's hard to tell from the pics. The repairs are over 10k now but I told them to do a more detailed estimate.

will they allow you to take mods thats are still in good condition off?

s300ae 11-29-2011 12:29 PM

The only thing I could take off is the stereo. I'll be selling that this week.
Got a call from ICBC today. They found the other party 100% at fault

jpark 11-29-2011 12:33 PM

thats good to hear at least

s300ae 11-29-2011 12:53 PM

So I guess I have two options left:

Buy out the car for $$ and be left with $$
Or
Take whatever ICBC estimates it at (good chance they'll undervalue so I'll have to argue with them on the amount)

Depending on how much I can buy the car back, I just might do it.
Use the money to buy something else, and slowly rebuild my old car into a mean machine.

It's def a project.

Not really racist! 12-03-2011 03:18 PM

did you get a fair price from icbc?

s300ae 12-03-2011 04:00 PM

Ya pretty fair. It was below my expectations but above my low ball fear. So they met right in the below while I still pulled stuff off the car.
Sucks I can't take off the new sways, rotors and brakes because I don't have the old stock ones.
