Accident on King George Blvd Hey cool story bros, So as some of you may know, I was in an accident this morning on the way to work between 650-7:00Am. You might have heard it on the radio, but they had to shut down KG for a bit. Sorry if you were late because of that. Long story short: I was in the left lane heading northbound. A van in the right lane decided to change lanes last minute. I must have been in his blind spot. He made the switch, i slammed the brakes and horn but it was too late. He side swiped me hitting my passenger door, fender, wheel, hood, bumper, lip... There was minor damage to the other driver. I went across the median into the oncoming traffic. Luckily, there was no one there otherwise I would have hit them head on. They shut down the road because they had to tow me out. I told the truck driver that they'll need a flatbed or reverse tow but he wouldnt listen. This is what happened: I got some pics: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...r/423c6fcd.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...r/4e008686.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...r/6409e743.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...r/2475b6f9.jpg I am fine. Got checked out by the medics. I have started a claim with ICBC so ill keep this thread updated on what happens next. edit: this was just filmed on sunday :( Final Timeline: |
sorry to hear buddy, good thing you're okay! |
man that fucking tow driver, what a dumbass. Glad you're ok man |
Glad you're OK, sorry about your car. That tow truck driver's a fucking idiot. I mean sure, they had to get your car out of the way but why not pull it off to the side, then lift it properly? |
crunch* :fuuuuu: good to hear your alright and GL |
That's lucky that the other lane was clear, it could have been much worse. I was forced onto the shoulder of the highway last winter and just a few weeks ago into an oncoming lane in Surrey by people not checking their blind spots and merging into my lane, fortunately I responded quickly each time. idiot drivers... |
Yeah definite have to be thankful that things didn't end up worse. Hopefully everything works itself out. Posted via RS Mobile |
Ya thanks guys!!! If anyone has a similar experience please feel free to share. Never been in something like this. Posted via RS Mobile |
I seem to experience this more in Surrey than any other location. Now I just keep very alert with the cars around me and try to anticipate what they will do. Give yourself enough distance from the car beside you and in front of you. Enough distance so you have more than enough time to react to any circumstances. |
Like everyone said, good that you're not injured, sucks that this had to happen but give it a couple of weeks and you'll be back on the road. Good thing you also caught the guy trying to tow your car. What a fool. |
Shitty deal man. definitely lucky there wasn't oncoming traffic - i would've been shitting my pants. |
What did the dumbass say after he backed right into your bumper? |
My reaction: "OooooooooooOOOO!!!" Sorry dude, feel your pain. Show that video to the ICBC adjuster. Clean it up and have it ready. |
Smart move on OP for filming it, freaking dumbass tow drivers |
