OEM Sunroof Issue!

Hey,

wondering if anyone has experience a similar instance.

I've got a 1995 Civic SI and the sunroof seems to be malfunctioning.

When I open the sunroof, it tilts up and opens slowly (almost like the motor is struggling) but when I press and hold the close button, its a lot slower than when it opens and sometimes stops. I have to press and hold the close button again and sometimes its doesn't react but eventually closes very slowly.

I know its an older vehicle but I think it may be the sunroof motor that needs to be replaced.

I haven't tried applying any lubricant to the rails but I find it strange because it opens and closes @ a different rate.

I've tried google and other sites without any luck so if someone has some incite that would be appreciated!

Thank you

P.S. im sorry if I posted in the wrong section.

Try lubricating the gears. If that doesn't help, you'll need to replace the motor itself.

Yup, I've used lithium on a window and sunroof motor in the past and they worked like new afterwards.
