EDIT: my bad. wrong thread.

Tempted to get the HD version.. It was originally the S2 that I wanted to get.

But in any case people were wondering, I went from the LTE model to the normal S2, and am very happy. Battery life is 10x better on the i9100, with a larger support base from ROM developers and users on XDA.

Got bell's new S2 HD LTE. All i can say is, the phone has the worst battery life i had ever owned. Hopefully it's a kernel/firmware issue and a update will fix it.

Rogers is taking forever to release ICS for the SGS2 LTE.

I JUST found out about this phone today from Bell commercials on TV.
I've been googling around but there doesnt seem to be much about it, not even on XDA.

Buddy got the same phone too. Try switching it to HSPA? It's no surprise that battery life would be shit if you're on LTE.

Hey I just got Bell's S2 HD LTE.
I'm finding it a bit laggier than my friend's and also when watching videos on the youtube app, they always get sped up at parts which makes it very annoying to watch.
does anyone know how to fix either one of these problems? the phone software is all up to date.

Simplex123 06-23-2012 01:12 PM

I've had a problem with that before as well. I think you just change the language to either English US or English UK. Give it a try.

Warp9Racing 06-23-2012 01:36 PM

No luck

Warp9Racing 06-24-2012 08:32 PM

nns 06-27-2012 08:44 PM

Hold the Vol. down button, then press Home and the Power button simultaneously. It works maybe 1/10 times for me when I try. For the times it does work, I get that damn Vol. slider in my screenshot.

Warp9Racing 06-28-2012 04:47 AM

bah...0/10 times for me...

My S2 HD LTE is eating battery like mad and I have no idea why.
I fully charged it last night before going to bed and when I woke up it was at 70%. That's 30% of battery in 6 hours from absolutely no use at all.
I go to work at 7am this morning, leave it in my jacket pocket til my break at 10:30 and it's down to 50%. That's another 20% in 3.5 hrs.
Anyone know why?

33% - Android system

I get what you mean, battery life about 5 hours with mild useage lol. Turn off LTE and just use HSPA, that will give you a bit more juice.

It's because there's some apps that are preventing your phone from going into deep sleep. Just reboot and let the battery run through a few cycles.

just curious, how will this help?

also, if i go to settings>applications>running, i have a bunch of things running that i absolutely do not use but i can't seem to stop them. i.e Lets golf 3, social hub, email, and i don't know why 3 maps are running...

J-force 07-23-2012 10:00 AM

edge > wifi > 3g > let in terms of battery saving

usually when I sleep I just leave it on wifi and disable mobile networks. I just recently got this phone a well and it's still has much more battery life than my nexus s had with 3g always on lol
