Does anyone know if the ice cream sandwich update is out for the S2 LTE (Rogers)?? And if is it out, has anyone upgraded to it?? Is it buggy??

It's out. I have it. Not buggy, just fine. You can get it through kies. Don't go that route if your phone is rooted though cause it'll mess up the phone. Speaking from personal experience.

I just received this phone a while ago and love it. One thing I noticed was that the reception isn't good (for me anyways). I do not have an LTE simcard yet ( I get the 4G notification only ), but the reception I'm getting during calls keeps dropping and eventually I start cutting out from the person I'm talking to. I currently have my phone set to GSM / HSPA (not searching for lte )
It happened when I was talking to my gf and rogers rep. The problem must be on my end.
Anyone think the call quality will be better if I get that sim card? I hope so lol

anyone else updated to ICS? I have read numerous issues after the update. Just wondering if i can get real answers.

My phone starts freezing during some menus for about 15 seconds. Really annoying

i too have horrible reception, worst than when i had a blackberry or an iphone, calls always dropping, and always one bar on 4G. It might just be my area because its usually better in other places, but still worse than other phones ive had.

Ill be getting an LTE sim soon so ill see if that helps

I would say this is quite an underrated phone. With the Nexus, Note, and S3 all by LTE's side, it makes this phone look like crap. However in my personal opinion, excluding the S3, LTE will dominate Nexus and Note. All you got to do is root your phone and go get yourself some kernel and rom. My recommendation would be CM9. It is very slim, fast, good on battery and has amazing functions. Best setup I have found to be would be CM9 RC2 rom, UCLF6 radio, with InstigatorX kernel. You can find all these files and roms in xda-developers. Great forum to be at if you want to know about your phone.

I got my lte sim and it's still bouncing around with the reception. I do get service and data, but when I make calls the other person tells me it sometimes sounds like I'm talking from a distance. Thats my biggest pet peeve about talking on the phone

The icon in my notification bar says LTE now, but i don't have an lte data plan....
Free lte upgrade?

Simplex123 08-01-2012 11:04 AM

You with rogers or bell?

nns 08-01-2012 11:36 AM

Rogers

J-force 08-01-2012 11:57 AM

No they do not. You can see the network, but unless you have it set on the network side at Rogers, you won't get LTE.

Telus or Bell on the other hand switch over automatically.

I did a speedtest and I was getting 30-40 mbps off speedtest.net.
