Guangdong?

There's a flight deal right now.. flying to Guangdong on Oct 2012, it's 492$ tax included.. I'm almost tempted to pull trigger just for the price..
What is there to do in Guangdong?

Take a bus to Hong Kong

There's nothing in Guangdong unless you're a tourist from China. Really good food though, if you can get around and find it.

But I'd just use that as a cheap way to get to HK

Where did you see this deal?

I see deals around that price in the Chinese papers but when I call the travel places it usually comes out to $800-900 after other taxes and fees...

Yeah why not take the short trip down to hk? The food at guangdong is awesome, but I've heard some pretty chilling tales that you may not want to hear. Just make sure you are alert at all times and have a sense of direction to where you are going.

+1. The food in Guangdong is great. If you want to go on a short tour of Guangdong, check out pakmingholiday.com. They have some good deals for 2 day tours of the city Xinhui.

I went to Xinhui earlier this month by booking a tour through Pakming holiday. -recommend going to the Hai Bang waterfront village in Xinhui, Guangdong province for their buffet lunch.
For 150 renminbi, about 20 bucks, you get to have one of the best buffet lunches ever in China.

some Menu items: lamb chops, duck in orange sauce, beef short ribs,
fresh papaya with bird's nest
fresh sugarcane juice, squeezed by the staff at the juice stand.

A liquor station: All you can drink Japanese beer, and sake.

Japanese food station: Tempura and ramen cooked by the staff.

All you can eat seafood: crab, shrimp, fish.

A veggie station: Chinese and western veggies cooked by the
staff.

A dessert station, including self serve ice cream.

The village also has an performance stage in the middle of it where you can hear musicians and singers perform during lunch or dinner.

Guangdong is a province. Guangzhou is the city.

Thats the same as saying flights to California is cheap. But which city are you landing?
