MOTOROLA DROID 3 or ????

DROID 2 GLOBAL by MOTOROLA - Android Business Mobile Smartphone - Tech Specs - Motorola Mobility, Inc. USA

i've been trying out the motorola droid 2 for a few months now, and i must say, it's SHIT. i was lucky to find it as motorolas are almost non-existent in viet nam. here, it's pretty much apple and samsung duking it out.

other than the nice design and ease of use, the phone is:

-slow as hell, especially the camera
-battery drains after only 6 hours of usage, i have 3 chargers, in my car, my bedroom, and my office to keep this fucker going all day.
-always gotta restart it for it to work normally
-when dialing numbers, sometimes i'll dial only 4 numbers and it'll jump back to the home screen.

(there's more, but these are the ones that piss me off the most)

basically, i decided to switch from blackberry to android to see what all the hype was about and man was i disappointed.

i still wanna try a better android since there's no way i'm gonna switch to apple. not that i got anything against their brand (i think the iphone is great) but EVERY SINGLE fucking person has an iphone in vietnam, predominantly girls. it's ridiculous.

i like to be unique, or at least starting trends.

been thinking about upgrading to the motorola droid 3, so i was wondering if anybody has one and could share me their opinions on the phone:

DROID 3 Android Smartphone by Motorola - Thin QWERTY Dual Core Phone - - Overview - Motorola Mobility, Inc. USA

or, if anyone else could make any suggestions on any great android phones for business.

i'm always on the go and i need to check my email constantly, so i want/need a slider with QWERTY keyboard.

i've been thinking about the galaxy nexus too, that's the only phone where i'll consider forgetting about the QWERTY.

thanks for reading and help, if any!

We can't use the droid line here in canada so you won't find anyone here to give you opinions. Why didn't you just buy a Samsung android phone instead?

i'm not as knowledgeable about phones as any of you guys, so i didn't even know you guys can't use it over in canada. that's so weird. why can't you use the droid line?

samsung is pretty good now, nexus galaxy is probably the only one i would choose that didn't have a sliding QWERTY, but i'm coming back to vancouver for xmas, so i wanna get my hands on a nice piece of tech, either in HK or vancouver.

your better off getting it in HK... its overpriced and little selection compared to asian..

It's not that you can't, it's that we don't. Nobody here carries Motorola anymore, so you won't be able to buy it here unless it's from one of those private companies which rape you up the bum hole.

Honestly, even without knowing cellphones I'm surprised you went Moto. The only thing that Moto did well was the original Razr, and that was only because it was stylish and simple; none of their other phones have ever really had the zing of other brands.

All that having been said, I went from berry with a qwerty to a T959 Galaxy S (the Tmobile model), and have been loving it mostly due to swype. It's glorious and a completely different way of typing that basically should be the new standard for typing with a touchscreen. No matter what phone you're using, you should get swype so you don't hate typing with a touchscreen.

since ur over in asia

Nokia Lumia 800 < if you want something new and refreshing and fast (i dont like WP7 though but it seems to be catching on /shrug)
or
Nokia N9 <if u want to keep with the Android theme but better battery life and better build quality and more polished OS (after all androids just a rip-off of Maemo)

:)

Most of the Motorola Droid line is not compatible with our networks here. The only exceptions are the Milestone, XT720, and the new Razr. I'm not sure what bands Vietnam uses for their cellular but I think StylinRed is right in that it might be better to buy in HK.
